I just saw this offer on tv:

Somerfield are offering half price fresh turkeys and turkey crowns from tomorrow (Thursday)

Looking at the website they are also doing half price beef, pork & lamb joints from the 12/12

i think this is a good heads up! fresh urkeys are so expensive
#3
surely it is only a good deal if we know what price they are charging??????
#4
yep somerfield are usually more expensive than all the other supermarkets, so the poster should have listed what price the turkeys were per pound to give members an idea if it was a good deal against the other supermarkets

I'm sorry the tv advert didn't give price per pound otherwise I would have posted it, and as the offer wasn't on the website I thought it would be a good advance warning for those like myself that don't normally shop in Somerfield.

Tesco have started putting out their turkeys & crowns in my local shop, so we should have a comparison by tomorrow morning.

sorry to hijack.people seem to be funny on here about supermarket deals so thought i would add to this thread

they have also got 400g of youngs smoked salmon on for £4.50 (apparantly it was £12:roll:)
seems good quality better than most supermarket branded in that price range

deal on until 25th dec and best before 31st dec at my store

thnx scotty, I've added it to my shopping list. now that the present shopping is finished it's time to turn attention to the food.

I've done most of my Christmas shopping via the internet this year, 15 parcels yet to be delivered, should I be nervous? Anyone know where to buy the cheapest Gaviscon lol!

yum yum.

I'd recommend avoiding cheap turkeys, buy a nice Free Range one (should be about £30 in a supermarket I guess), will really taste the difference, and it's surely worth it for Christmas to have better quality.
