Don't want to get people's hopes up, but my local Blockbuster(Peckham SE London) is clearing out boxless, used DVD's at the ridiculous price of £2 each(crap price for USED & boxless) BUT then dropping to 5 for £5. This branch has been used for clearing through large amounts of ex-rental & used titles before & so this may be a very local offer. On the other hand it may be that stores have been told to have a clear out or that selected stores are recieving bulk quantities of this type of stock to clear.
It might be worth having a look at your local stores if you're near a branch & we can find out if this is just local.
Having the discs out on the counter meant I could check how 'beermatted' they were or weren't.
Hope it's a big drive to clear out from the stores & other people can benefit from this as I just spent £15 quid!!!

As I said in the OP everything was used or ex-rental & sold in plastic or cardboard sleeves. I got a number of Asian cinema titles (The Blade, Rich & Famous, Wild Search), some kids films & some bigger titles like a 2-disc copy of Get Shorty, Along came Polly & Deathwatch.
Rejected a few due them being too scratched to even gamble a quid on & as I say, my branch doing this might be a one off. It may well be worth asking if your local has a quantity of boxless titles & see if they are willing to negotiate a price for bulk purchases...it's better for them to get rid of a load in one go than mess about with odds & sods. You could even ask them to ring the Peckham store if they don't believe how cheap these are being sold as Blockbuster usually charge stupid amounts (£1-5 average) on this sort of sleeveless/boxless stock.

about a month ago they had a clearout at one of my local blockbusters but did not have this offer, will check it out though......

during that time they were clearing out the boxless games as well, for example gba, xbox and ps2 games....

No games in mine as it's got a Gamestation franchise in it.

As I said, if they've got any decent amount ask if they can do a better price for 5+, 10+ or find whatever you're interested in & just ask what the best price would be. Ask for the duty manager rather than asking a member of staff only for them to say no because they can't override the price.
I've worked for a number of different retailers(inc Blockbuster) & with discounted (genuine) clearance stock I'd rather have an offered price for this stock & a happy customer than have it sitting around forever & a day because it's over-priced, outdated or scruffy looking which is what these boxless titles are in most of the Blockbusters!
