Very very good song. Not sure if it's even a cheap deal, but it is very very good.

Slight irony in that Tim had his song knicked but his son Jeff did the knicking.

It's always worth having a look at TuneChecker http://www.tunechecker.com/ They list Amazon as as one of the cheapest for this song, the other being TuneTribe (who I've never heard of). Other than that go to Play.com who have it at 70p with a possible 2% cashback from Quidco, which makes it pretty much the same cost.

Huh? Jeff Buckley covered "Song To The Siren" as well as This Mortal Coil? Are you sure he also covered it?

This Mortal Coil was a "supergroup" of recording artists on 4AD records, "Song To The Siren" was actually covered by Cocteau Twins Liz Fraser and Robin Guthrie.

Only link as far as I am aware to Jeff (besides Tim being his father and original writer of Song To The Siren) was that shortly before his death Liz Fraser was involved on both a personal and songwriting level with him and demos of a wonderful song they dueted on have leaked aplenty on the internet called "All Flowers In Time Bend Towards The Sun"

I fail to see how this is very very good, let alone the ridiculous blasphemy that it's better than the original.

How does way too much warbling constitute an improvement? :?

FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTT!

Who can say which version is better? It's all subjective... for me both versions are great (though I do prefer listening to This Mortal Coil's). I just wish that they had stuck 16 Days/Gathering Dust on the It'll End In Tears CD.

Sorry I was being a bit more obtuse than that and referring to all the chatter here over Jeff's cover of Halleljah and now we are talking about a Tim Buckley cover.

Whilst you may not like the cover, warbling?! how can you be so unkind to one of the best female singers of modern times?
