This is a total con so I'm glad it's bombed: "The downside of valve amplification, of course, is that you need to allow a short period for the valve to warm up to hear it. But since the i-Steroid works as soon as you turn it on - or if you take the valve out before turning on the power - I suspect there's a twin amplification system in there." Ha ha! Even if the valve does something (I don't believe what the reviewer says about it sounding better with it in place - that's the power of suggestion), it can only be a pre-amplifier, not an output stage.

Whatever Man.

Heat from me as this looks like a neat deal in my books - not a great deal if you are an anorak audiophile happy to bomb perfectly good deals!

I think you'll find that the "anorak audiophiles" are the sort of people who wet themselves with delight at the mention of valves - I am warning them off it. :)

He posted an informative and supported opinion which you poo-pooed based upon the fact that you think it 'looks a neat deal' based upon 'your books'.
I think it's clear who's made the more valuable contribution.

Personally I would consider recommending this to a mate of mine looking for something around this price.
