Cannot find the android version. Hot though
#2
I got free upgrade today :D
#3
Can you give a link to the Android version please?
#4
The android version isn't out yet. I believe it is meant to be released later today.
#5
hot, waiting for android link to appear :D

Got my free upgrade today. Looks pretty nifty. Adds the ability to use Tails or Knuckles in the levels as well as the ability to spin dash. SEGA accounts are now supported by the app and you can now customise your controls.

All in all this is a very good update.

play as tails and knuckles and add spin dash??? Pointless. This is basically a rom hack.

I could have sworn I'd bought all the Sonic games, but this one is listed as £1.99 for me.

hot and it better be free on android if you got both parts of sonic 4 as i am sure they said it would be if you had both of them.
#13

All updates are FREE...

So only FREE if you already have bought it ?

daft listing..

It's one of those dubious deals ;)

Nintendo refuse to release anything Nintendo-related on iOS, but their SEGA arm can do what they like apparently!
#18
Just note that Game Saves from previous versions are not compatible with this update

Aren't they the enhancements from Sonic & Knuckles?
#20
the controls on all the Sonics are so stiff tho. worst thing about Sega on android
#21
The old version was better IMO. I preferred the pixel perfect graphics even if it didnt fill the screen.

No, S&K pretty much did nothing for Sonic 1
#23
I would rather play this on my megadrive.

Any point in going for this when I have Sonic CD on my phone? I was never really impressed by its responsiveness...

Ah my bad! Stupid comment really lol. What I really should have asked; is this one actually playable? I found sonic CD a let down as the original was much more fluid.

You know sega and Nintendo are two completely separate company's, like apple and google, sega is not an "arm" of Nintendo.

Trailer

Just seems wrong seeing Knuckles and Tails in the first game. I can even remember sticking Sonic 1 into the top of the the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge and it telling me `no way!`.

I'm confused how this is a deal? Great news, yes, huge Sonic fan and Android girl but, is it going to go up in price? I got the press release sent to me earlier and it didn't mention anything about £1.99 for a limited time or anything like that. And free upgrade, great...if you already have the game, so again news rather than a deal?

When it's reduced to 69p or free, then I'll vote it hot.
#35
Voted cold, no free as you need to buy the game which costs £1.99. As far as I am aware, all updates to a game should be free anyway so not a deal.

I was merely pointing out what the OP initially said for those who couldn't read it correctly.

Yay finally. I feel crazy buying games I've already been able to play via emulator on my tablet, but for the sake of convenience and supporting development of updating classic games I'm buying this.

Edit: Urgh they've renamed him to Eggman.
..and they've removed the level select and debug mode.

At £1.99 its the closest experience to Sonic 1 on the Megadrive I've ever had since owning the original.

Controls wonderfully on the Ipad 4th edition.

Heat added for sharing this. :)

Now on Android and NOT £1.99, its £2.35 :-|
