In a frantic battle to the chequered flag, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sees Sonic and friends speed around tracks set in mediaeval castle ramparts, lush rainforests and bustling cities, all taken from the visually rich and varied universes of Sonic and SEGA. Fan favourites such as Dr. Eggman, Tails, AiAi, Amigo and many more will join Sonic in their custom built vehicles, revving their engines and jostling to stay ahead of the pack. Each character will race around the track in cars, planes, motorbikes, and in AiAi's case a banana mobile! Secret short cuts, swift handling and avoiding strategically placed obstacles are certainly the best way to get to the top of the podium. And winning is only part of the fun in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing!

Each character has a specific All Star move such as Super Sonic, Banana Blitz and Tails Tornado, allowing a quick way for competitors to get back into the race! Power ups and weapons can also be collected around the tracks and used against the opposition to ensure they don't become a threat to that number one position

Players can battle it out in single or multiplayer mode, allowing up to four friends to race in frantic split-screen action, or up to eight players to compete online in the ultimate racing showdown. Can Amigo scramble Dr. Eggman? Will AiAi say bye-bye to Tails? Are you gonna be faster than Sonic?

Very good and challenging single player but the online and multiplayer isn't as good as Mario Kart.

Great Price!! Get the feeling this games pricve is going to drop like a lead balloon!! Even so, great price! H&R

It's only been out a week and it's already dropped a tenner? I'll wait until it falls to a tenner - which shouldn't be long, at this rate - before buying.

I take it this isn't with the wheel though.

It's a great game and to some extent better than Mario. No problem with multiplayer game for me. Kids love it as well (oh forgot who I got it for ;-) )

Why not?
I only play Mario kart online and multiplayer.

I'd bet this'll be in the bargain bins in a month...

Heat added for price after a week !

Chances are if you're this big of a fan of racers you already have the one which came with MK

Same here with Mario Kart Wii.
Basically when you go online and you're in a lobby, only the host is able to choose the settings for the race - tracks, number of laps, CPU players and items on/off etc - there's no option to vote and as there is no Wii Speak support you can't argue about it either :-D

Offline multiplater is 'ok' but suffers if there's more than 2 of you due to the framerate.

The single player is much better than Mario Kart Wii though - the GPs are fun and challenging, and there are 64 missions to do - similar to the ones found on Mario Kart DS.

SEGA games always go down in price after a week or two, but I thought as this was a Mario Kart clone it would stay at £25-£30 a while longer than usual.

I only purchased it as I managed to order for £17 from TheHut. Sold it for £25 Playfund the other day ;-) Might purchase it again if I see it below the £10 mark someday.

the only reason i want this game is because it has beat from jet set radio and ryo from shenmue.
#11
A bit more of a driving game than mario kart - a little bit like trickbots racing.

I think this is a better game than Mario Kart, In Mario Kart they tend to throw everything at you bar the kitchen sink with this game it's more about the racing thankfully, But i also agree this will be in bargain bins in a month or two (Sega games always are). But that doesn't mean it's a bad game :)

Wrong format for my liking but still a great deal so heat added.

.

Thanks for that.
I'm still not clear on this though; is it possible to play 2-player online with split screen? If not, that would be a deal breaker for me.

Thanks, I've ordered one.
