Rock radio are doing a rock "club" offer for £99 which includes a t-shirt, hat and key ring, and also gets you into select events that the station puts on.
Previously they have ran this offer with a free download ticket, and the comments on here were not as good as sonisphere.

So tempted! So many great groups for £102.50!
#6
Brilliant price! If I had any chance of getting the time off work I'd be snapping this up.
#7
I've gone for it as we've done Download already a few weeks back and as my son's 12 he can go for free.

As this is a "limited offer", when do we find if they're going to honour it?

When you click the BUY NOW button on the link, it wont let you go any further when the tickets have all gone, so if you order, you WILL get them!

No.. It's not subjective. They are the big four thrash metal bands of the 80s. It's not saying they're the biggest four rock bands in the world -_-

Gutted about this, super hot.. my ticket arrived yesterday, cost me £180+.

Best festival in the UK imo.. Brilliantly organised, the set up makes all the bigger festivals (Glasto, Reading/Leeds, Download) look useless.

I also attended Novarock for free as part of the tourist offer, had an amazing time! Another great festival, will definitely consider going again!

Best to wait till last minute. You might get 2 fell weekend ticks for that price on eBay. Done this twice already.

By the way, Metallica was great 2 years ago. Great that they play on Friday this time

So what happens if I've already had the £102.49 come out of my PayPal? Will I get my ticket, even though it's now giving this 2:30pm tomorrow message?

I'd imagine if they've charged you, you will get the ticket. They've probably sold all the allocation hence the message change.

It definitely is subjective, I would only go to the festival to see Killing Joke. Sooner see them play "The Wait" than hear Metallica's fret wailing cover version.

Seeing that Metallica had two influences in both Killing Joke and Diamond Head, I really don't understand the "big four" connotation other than that "popularity wise" those "thrash metal" bands are the biggest bands at the festival.

I just tweeted this deal to father Ted at rock radio Scotland, here was his reply.... hey, we do have some but they are not on sale until tomorrow afternoon. Anyone signing up now won't be able to complete the order.
So more tix on the way!!

leeryon has it right - the reason these bands are referred to as 'the big four' is due to them being the biggest bands in their music genre in their time, nothing to do with personal preference.

To me it's odd calling them "The Big Four", as the most popular bands at the festival surely they should be called "Headliners" you know like at any other festival, just goes to show how cod rock pretentious "metal" festivals have to be lol, it's like a Spinal Tap cliché.

To me, it's not. It's a collective given to four of the bands that dominated the scene at it's strength - 'the big four' sounds slightly catchier than 'the four bands that dominated the scene at it's strength'
