£169 on the UK site so seems a good saving - I have heard before some of these European Amazon deals do get dispatched from the UK as well so could be quick delivery ...

Purchased 2 of these at this price plus 3.50€ for postage 30/12/14 ... they arrive 07/01/15, remember the plug will be Euro style, UK version in white too can be purchased directly from Sonos for £5 each, note that the plug into the unit is unique to Sonos so can't use a standard 'kettle' cable.

Good luck, Love and Peace :)

7 Euros delivery seems unavoidable though?

Indeed so listing price should say £143.47 (depending on card rate, I use Santander Zero for all my foreign purchases due to their incredible exchange rate and no fees attitude).

people buy those sonos leads for £13 on eBay #crazy

you can buy plug convertors for a couple of quid

personally I cut the cord and wired a uk plug on, no smoke yet

Ooh, didn't think of that!! What a flipping good idea

Hi just used a uk power lead with figure of 8 connection on my playbar and it seems to be working fine... Anyone know if there's any reason that I shouldn't do this?
#8
What's all this about plugs? I thought Sonos were wireless. Seriously i listened to one in my local Currys & was not impressed, have a listen before parting with your hard earned pasatas.
#9
I am sure you can use a normal power cord (for playbar at least) but thanks for the heads up about the £5 replacement lead. Free delivery so for that price no point in risking invalidating warranty etc.
#10
Yeah using any UK cord should be ok, but I think the end that goes into the Sonos is slightly different, I could be wrong...although the suggestions above esp. the cutting off the Euro plug and wiring a white UK plug sounds a good plan...I'm a bit particular about how things look and prefer the 'original look' as the Sonos is slightly different from the standard type figure of 8 lead if you know what I mean :)

I don't think listening in your local curry's / pc world is the ideal environment.

My advice, buy one, if it sounds crap in your desired room, send it back.

It won't, I've listened to loads and had tons of speakers. For their teeny size, these are amazing!

Mine arrived last week, can confirm that they sound fantastic, either on their own or as a stereo pair.

I have a question around the power cord though

I might well need a longer one -

- Is it thought that a simple converter plug is inadequate/unsafe and that a UK version of the entire cable should be used instead?
- Is there one in particular that people tend to go for, I know most will be straight ended and not right angled but also that you can get right angled ones too?
- I don't suppose there is a right angled one that has a detachable part at the plug itself (like a USB charger) as I need to run the wire through a tight space and a right angle wouldn't fit so could do the other way around (if that makes sense?)

Cheers
