Sorry I can't hear you, need to turn my Sonos down!

Are you telling me that non new open box stuff is only getting 16.7% off at the most discountable time of the year ?

I doubt you'll see half price but surely a deal here is in the £300/400 range ?

I've got a £2k Sonos set up, 3 room, all speakers wires hidden in the walls with a NAS drive. Will last a lifetime. It's the best and you will never look back, it's sublime. You may buy cheaper or try and rig up an alternative but once you try Sonos you'll never try anything else again. It's the only option for a multi room, high quality house hi fi. Pair it with Deezer for a good built in streaming service as well. Don't waste time trying to spend less money, save up and have a constant smile on your face :)

I have a 5.1 Sonos set up and it's awesome (got the wife a 3 for the bedroom to keep her happy)
The system is slick, and awesome!

I like Sonos, I have the Amp and a One. I love it, but I really don't get this sound bar, seems way over priced and lacking some pretty standard connections and decoding. If it was cheap and had HD sound I would consider it, in this guise it seems poorly implemented.

As mattrixdesign2 says above, what's so special about this soundbar for £599 new or am I missing something? I'm sure it will be a big improvement on the built-in sound of a slim LED TV but nowadays you can pick up a reasonable a/v surround sound amp plus speakers from Richer Sounds for that kind of money and it will blow something like this away. Yes I know not everyone wants or can accommodate speakers all round their lounge and hence there's a market for soundbars but I don't think this one or others which can cost between one and two thousand pounds is ever going to give you that kind of sound quality. Just my opinion.

Your opinion is unfortunately misguided.

Price match currys after john Lewis confirmed stock, had to call the store and get a john Lewis assistant to confirm deal. Headache but well worth it

So ignoring its a Sonos (briefly!) do people like this because its a Sound Bar, but can be paired with rear speakers, thus giving a kind of 5.0 sound, add a sub woofer for 5.1? I get it, but its a seriously expensive option when it all adds up? How does it perform as a Sound Bar itself, compared to say a Yamaha one?

Obviously you can get all the Sonos compatibility with this setup which is a massive bonus.

For me at this price I would expect 2 x Sonos Ones, and a Sound Bar with HDMI/HD Sound - and then I may be interested.

I still love my Sonos, but for music.

I was wondering how this performs in comparison to a yamaha YSP 2500? ... for TV rather than music

I have the sonos ZP100 connected to mordant short speakers and its great for music. I use it less nowadays ....
