Good price ,just not right time of year for me

£540 for a soundbar? I'd want it to make my coffee and a slice of toast in the morning for this price!
#3
And after the coffee and toast I would want it to have a disappointing 2 minutes. If its lucky.
#4
I do want this but can't justify the price atm :(.

Don't look at this then.

But seriously. This is Sonos gear. It isn't cheap and that's because it's excellent. This isn't your cheap Samsung/Sony type soundbar that they give away free with their TVs. This is a great price for this fantastic soundbar. Hot hot hot.

Haha. Fair enough! I've always felt that my TV speakers were absolutely fine so I've never invested in a soundbar in the past, so my knowledge of what's worth the money and what isn't is extremely limited!

I have some of those components sitting in my living room, I thought it had been announced, but realised at the weekend it wasn't.
#19
50% off? Never heard for Sonos. Lucky. Enjoy.

Does anyone have this with the subwoofer - I saw a review that said it was not much good without it, the £1,100 to £1,200 for the pair puts me off big time.

Firstly, 50%??? OMG, please be my bestest friend ever?!?!?!

Secondly, you're gonna have to stop being a tease and share now! I know it's not the wireless stuff as that changed recently.

seen with and without - both setups are brilliant really. The sub adds a shed load of quality bass, but the bar on its own performs very very well. That's the thing about Sonos, it seems to grow over time, but you'll never be disappointed between purchases!

In my opinion they moved away from their proprietary network to strengthen their case against Denon.

Regarding the mystery change, if it's playbar only then is it a multiple input with an optical pass through? Just a speculative guess. I bought the playbar last year (AV Bristol "sonosgate").

Also, shouldn't we be doing some sort of conga line for their Refer a Friend offer on Sonos?! They give you a Play:1 if you refer 3 friends... :)
#25
Ive got this sound bar, and ive tries Bose, and several others but felt this was the best. Ive just put 2 play 1's to act as the surrounds. Unless you have a large room, and i mean large, you don't need the sub woofer, theres plenty of bass with this alone.

Well don't you have to buy them from Sonos for the refer a friend offer?
#34
Don't you have to register the speakers with the given email address? How then can you return if opened?
#35
You can buy them through a third party. Refer another email address that you have or a new one you make up. Set up the sonos speaker with the email address that you have just referred. Then go to the refer email that you would have sent and there is a section on it to add a sonos component bought from a third party. Register the sonos speaker details. Do it all again twice more. Your referral credit should appear straight away, mine did. Pack the speakers back up and return them to the shop you bought them from under distance selling regs and your sorted. I have done it and had my refund and free speaker!

I had already thought about that but in order to refer a friend you must receive an email from Sonos upon purchasing your 1st Play 1 as I dont think you can refer a friend otherwise. Then you still have to refer 3 friends so that actually means buying 4 Sonos play 1's to get the free one?
#37
I think that it's only certain people that were included in the refer a friend program. I hadn't bought a sonos speaker for over a year but gig the email from them.
#38
The Sonos SUB is a monster.

You seriously have to consider any neighbours, if you don't live in a home independent of anyone living through a wall then forget it. You'll have the police at your door.

Otherwise, what a bit of kit. It is better if you link up with a Playbar and 2 Play 1s as it will concentrate the high frequencies on those speakers and the SUB only will deal with the low frequencies.

Expensive 5.1 but if you do it correctly and set up via optical direct from your TV via Sky HD/PS4 etc then you will have a dynamite set up.
