Unless you've had all your house electrical installation checked within the last 5 years, with a certificate of proof
and you know who originally installed it, I think these will be the least of your worries!!!

You buy your house and because the electrics work...well that's it...all must be safe and well then
You'll only ever find out if anything is seriously wrong is....when your house burns down...GET IT CHECKED REGULARLY

Well I was happy to pay the extra £1.85 to have it delivered....Id pay more than £1.85 to park in town to go to Poundland and even then I doubt they would have them in my local store!! Not sure why they are not 100% safe (is anything electrical 100% safe??) Strange comment if you're not going to explain.....£1 adaptors in Poundland are 100% safe are they?! Can't please all the people all the time I guess :)

The poundland ones will be exactly the same as the one you have listed.

Also i said apparently they are not safe, note i said 'apparently' - its not my opinion. I am not a electrician, however i read up a lot and if you did too you will understand a rough idea as to why they are not safe.

Secondly you need to know what to plug into these to make sure you do not blow your house down. Do you know what you cannot plug into these??

go on then, surprise us,what can't you plug into these ?
I'll guess a 1000 watt industrial oven is a bad idea.

These will need to be safe running 13 amps to comply with BS 7671 (though I wouldn't run 13 amps for any length of time). Your 1000 watt industrial oven is 4-5 amps, fill yer boots. :)

We have a surge protector for out tv/sky etc but I was just getting this cheaper adaptor for charging phones etc in kitchen....seemed to be adequate but judging by the cold votes maybe not then?! Booooooom!! :)

Most modern homes have a surge protector built into their electrics, don't worry about adapters like this, it will trip it if not safe.

Nonsense, modern (17th Edition) consumer units (fuse boxes) have circuit breakers and RCD's (residual current devices). These DO NOT protect against power surges (not that I'm suggesting you need surge protection).
great hope you read the comments to save your ipad
