Looks good, batteries in 15 minutes!

Can you charge any batteries in 15 minutes or only those supplied? I have some exactly the same as pictured and I don't think they were particularly expensive, just standard rechargables.

It's a bit like us eating dinner in 2 minutes. You get the food in but your long term health will be compromised.

My humble suggestion is to buy more rechargeables (only the new Hybrios, Eneloops, etc.) and an intelligent charger that uses, by default, a charging current of just 200mA. and which actively monitors each battery as it charges.

Thanks.

I've just bought a load of standard rechargables and I'm going to add in some hybrios too.

The batteries should be the new "hybrid" type. Examples are:

Sanyo Eneloop
Uniross Hybrio
Sony Cycle Energy
Panasonic Infinium

These batteries come ready charged and they hold their charge when sitting on the shelf (typically they retain around 80% charge after 6 months and 70% after 12 months). To learn more about these batteries do a search for them on Amazon and read the user comments (Amazon.com is especially good for this).

As far as a battery charger goes, I've got a Technoline BL700. For more information have a look at THIS site. For some detailed info on this charger, again go to Amazon.com and search for La Cross BC700 (the U.S. version of the charger).
