Though expensice when comared to other types of flash memory, this is actually a good deal for a branded sony 2GB duo card.

Please be Kind Enough to explain why a negative vote is left... If you are comparing the price with a cheap ebay purchase.... lol, be prepared to receive a SONIE than SONY..

Thanks Ray for the deal

I would avoid Savastore as I bought one of these cards from them and they sent me a fake card.

They told me that they can’t be as they are bought from a reliable source, and would charge me a restocking fee if I returned them. Problem is I know that they are fake because there is barely a word of English on the packet, I did contact Sony and after describing them to them they agreed that it is a fake, mainly the reason that they have a sticker on both sides rather that being printed on the chip, this makes them to thick to fit into adapters and get stuck in PSP’s. So at the moment it’s with Trading Standards.

Mymemory.co.uk sells 1GB card from Sandisk for 17.99. It would cost you less to buy two of them rather than a single card.
#7
I agree with you siliconbits, to get 2Gb over two cards is fine if you don't require the whole 2Gb on one card :)

If working with DVD quality video for example, the 2Gb on one might be more beneficial ;)
#8
Totally agree with you on that rayman, I would rather one stick than two - if it's too expensive for the larger size I generally just wait for the price to come down.

festerhare - thanks for the info, had trouble in the past with Savastore, probably wouldn't go with them unless it was a really good bargain and not too pricey.

I agree - 99% of the memory stick duos on ebay are fakes - many dont have the full capacaty and many fail with a couple of weeks.

Now slightly less at £44.64 delivered!
#11
Now even less... £44.05 delivered !!

I also had bad experience with Savastore. Their customer service is non-existent!
Note: there were a lot of negative Savastore reviews @ pricerunner.co.uk, and it seems that Savastore has been completely deleted from the retailers list posted on the web site.

There shouldn't be any re-stocking fee! You could return it under DSR rights for no reason whatsoever and for a full refund.

The Sandisk cards are better than the Sony ones anyway - the transfer rates are far higher.

So savestore is a no no . Play.com is doing them 4 £49.99 so i guess it is best 2 go with them??
banned#15
Don't forget quidco - I think it's 4% at the moment for play.
#16
That's a good price for a Sony, but the Sandisk ones are cheaper and marginally better in benchmark tests.

MyMemory do the Sandisk 2GB sticks for £39.99.

Only just got into this thread. Today, I ordered a 2gb Sandisk pro duo from a UK fleabay seller to cope with my expanding collection of PSP emulators and roms. I got it for under 20 quid which I thought was pretty good. Bit worried after reading the comments here though, is it likely to be a fake? If so what should I do, I'm not sure DSR regs cover ebay sellers?

Unfortunately, most of the cards sold on flea bay are fakes, mostly from China. They run at an inferior speed and often fail after a few weeks.
I tried a fake in my PSP and the game and music jumped and stuttered instead of being smooth.
Not much help to you, I know, but be warned.

No, it's £3.95, but you get 4% Quidco.

I just checked and they're out of stock at the moment.

I just realised that they're even cheaper at Online Memory. They're £36.48 plus £2.95 delivery.

They're also cheap at 7dayshop at £32.49 plus £3.95 postage.

Even cheaper at MobyMemory at £33.99 plus £1.20 postage.

Well I'm being told I have purchased a fake sandisk 2gb pro duo, but the seller has had 1150 positive feedback (3 negative - delivery probs) in the last month for these things, and he even advertises the manufacturer warranty! I'm going to reserve judgement till i've received it and tried it out. If it works okay, I'll be happy.
#28
ok so what if its a fake? what do i do? i watched a watchdog program about ebay and well... they didnt really give an answer.. other than perhaps "stay away from ebay"

No - the Caveat Emptor regs cover Ebay

You don't buy things like Sony or Sandisk memory sticks off personal ebayers.
The saying "if it looks too good to be true it probably is" is absolutely true with memory sticks. If major retailers are all selling something at one price and someone offers you one at an incredibly cheap price it's either a fake or stolen.

Just to let you know I have purchased 2 x 2mg Genuine Sony sticks at £18.00 each.approx via Ebay, and they have been authentic & not a problem. PM for sellers ID
PS I am not a Ebay Seller!
#33
You can also buy them from amazon marketplace for around the £18 mark plus postage. I have bought 2 recently both original.

You sure? Amazon Marketpace MS Duo Sticks are usually as fake as fleabay ones. Sorry!
#35
Yup they both originals n work fine :)

Nice find emma. Very useful.

Don't forget that there are just as many fake Sandisk cards around now too.

Most of the Memory sticks on eBay are fakes, it is hard to tell the difference just looking at the stick, the best way is to look at the packaging, the original is heat sealed around the edges with dashes and the copies always use dots, you will see what I mean when you look.
