999 tracks at 48kbps - so really 260 odd at 128kbps (which seems to be what most things come in from websites/itunes & wmp rip at automatically, oh and actually being alright to listen to (although I prefer 192 or even 320))!

Good price regardless - 12 hour battery, providing the stat hasnt been manipulated like the capacity, is very good in my books.

lol, yeah, 48kbps is a joke! :-D

Sound is pretty bloody awesome really, for such a small device. The equalizer is a nice feature.

I've had a listen to a few Sony MP3 players over the years and always had good sound. Actually my old W850i before it died was amazing quality, particularly the bass - something I really miss now I use an iPhone and given that I mainly listen to Goa trance, hard trance and drum and bass!

got one of these great little mp3, use it whe in the gym and running, very light, and easy to carry or put in pocket., charged via USB. was 30 quid when i got mine 2 years ago. good set of heaphones you get with them, ability to use equaliser, random, playlists etc. also record sound bargin for under a tenner, csn verify that the battery lasts a long time.

Good little player for the gym etc., got one free about 2 years ago when I bought a Sony sat nav, sound quality is good and putting songs onto it couldn't be easier, just drop and drag.
#7
Decent enough but because it's only USB 1 it can take an eternity to drag and drop music on to it.

I just got a 2 gig mp3 player from Gamestation for 3 quid (right before it went out of stock) but this deal may be even better as it has an internal battery.

Not seen these in my local Tesco :(

I got one of these when Halfords had them on offer

not bad sound, wanted something cheap for cycling that I wasnt too worried about if it fell (dont want iPod hitting the ground).

though ended up giving it to nephew (cause he needed something cheap and decent for scout, btw bought another cheap sony player shortly afterwards also).

more than good enough for its price

PS
I know its a small drive, rem you can also add files to it like a normal USB Pen drive, and as someone already mentioned it is slow, but hey who cares once you've got your mp3s on it, you'll only be transferring small amounts afterwards :)

I got one of these from another hotukdeals offer, it's absolutely fantastic.

I like to use it to throw on files quickly before heading out of the house, without having to check that the tags are OK and fire up itunes, etc (as it's drag and drop and happily plays from filenames / directory structures).

Good sound, decent battery life, and the voice recorder is quite good, too.

God dammit, I was just about to try to sell mine that I bought a year ago. It takes forever to 'boot' which can be a right pain and it has a power button rather than pressing play yo turn it on and it automatically going off. It's the little things.

I had one of these for a while. it sounded excellent and is a bargain at this price.

Mine died after 11 months (so I got a refund as they had no stock), I did find a fair few people on the web who had them fail at 13-14 months (just after the warranty runs out). But for under a tenner that still makes it less then £1/month for a nice little MP3 player.

Yeah, your spot on about the bass. Just threw Pendulum's latest album - Immersion - on there, and the bass is pretty heart stopping! :-D

I still love my Creative Zen Stone player more though. Less features, sound quality not quite as good, but it's hardwearing and pretty bomb proof and absolute childs play to use.

Anyone manage to find the Walkman in their local Tesco's?
#15
hoping its in my local store its rechargeble you dont see them often for 7.99
#16
Tried half a dozen local stores.

Only one had it on the system, but no stock showing, and electrical department "refusing" to answer their phones.

Am i the first to comment on this? does that not seam like really bad maths to anyone else?
if 48kbps gets you 999 tracks 128kbps would give you 375! not 260.
but a bit rate which sounds good with in ear headphone like 192kbps at least gives you 250 which is still good.

It looks like it can't playback ATRAC3 or ATRAC3plus files.
