Seems like a cracking price to me. Doesn't mention what blu rays you get though.

BestBuy.co.uk have also partnered with Quidco for the grand opening of their website so you are pretty much guaranteed the cashback. Only other thing then is to claim the VAT back from Sony which shouldn't be too difficult as it is their main promotion this Christmas.

Product Description:

Sony's BRAVIA KDL40HX803U combines a beautiful, sharp HD picture on its 40” screen with a stylish design and a range of great features to produce a stunning all round watching experience. You can even upgrade it to watch 3D films and videos with optional active shutter 3D glasses. The KDL40HX803U uses Deep Black Panel technology to create an incredibly vivid cinematic picture with very high contrast and truly detailed black levels. The screen is designed to reduce glare in bright rooms, and looks stunning whether the television is on or off. Sony's BRAVIA Engine 3 processing system ensures colour tones are true to life, contrast is optimised, and detail is reproduced faithfully. Full HD 1080p ensures the picture is beautifully crisp and detailed when you're watching HD TV channels, Blu-ray movies or playing games. Dynamic Edge LED backlighting enhances colour intensity for whiter whites, darker blacks and richer colours, as well as a thinner screen and energy savings too. This television also has Motionflow 200Hz PRO to ensure your picture is impeccable even in fast-moving action scenes and sports broadcasts, by reducing image blur and offering smooth, sharp movement.24p True Cinema allows you to reproduce the authentic cinematic experience and enjoy movies exactly as the director intended in 24 frames per second, while two different modes offer unique film-like textures and adjusted colour and brightness settings. The KDL40HX803U has great sound to match the rich picture, using Sony's S-Force Front Surround system to create powerful, punchy sound, through invisible speakers hidden in the television's casing. The KDL40HX803U is Wi-Fi ready, so you can easily connect to your home wireless network by adding an optional Wi-Fi adaptor. This will allow you to use BRAVIA Internet Video to access online services, stream full-screen videos and catch up with TV shows you may have missed. You can even upgrade your BRAVIA with optional Active Shutter glasses and a 3D transmitter to allow you to watch Full HD 3D films on Blu-ray, and 3D television when the first 3D channels go live.

This television uses DLNA functionality to ensure that you can stream movies, music and photos to your television from any compatible device, no matter where in the house it is located. An inbuilt Freeview and Freeview HD tuner allows you to access all of the free-to-air terrestrial and high definition channels without the need for a separate set-top box.Four HDMI connections mean you can connect all of your other HD sources, including Blu-ray players, games consoles and HD cameras and camcorders. USB functionality allows you to plug in any USB device and enjoy films, photos and music on your television via USB playback. The universal remote control has BRAVIA Sync, which allows you to control your entire home entertainment system at the touch of a button.

Doesn't matter whether quidco is guarenteed or not.

HUKD specify that price should NOT include Quidco so you should amend your price accordingly

Been considering a few TVs and shopping around - The same pack but with only 2 movies (Alice and Cloudy) is £1422 at John Lewis so with cashback £1210. To be honest I think I would rather spend the extra £160 and get a 5 year guarantee on the TV, 2 years on the player and the knowledge that I wont get any hassle if I need to return it.

I know JL site says 2 films but I'm pretty sure this is via redemption from Sony so you should get all 5 films. I'm in two minds on this TV so haven't checked out with JL/Sony.

Difficult decision....wait for price to drop in new year an miss out on VAT off OR buy now and maybe be kicking myself when price plummets in Jan.

Then there's the 3D cross talk problem....will this be fixed in second generation LCD 3D?

But then I have a PS3 and GT5 on the way which is in 3D.

Can't make my mind up!

Good price, this is close to the price I got it for during those crazy bank holiday specials (£999 + Transmitter + 2 x glasses and PS3 console!), can't believe the prices have shot back up since. Great TV even if you don't use 3D.

I feel your pain hotyoda! In exactly the same boat. Really keen ongetting something but the crosstalk issues mentioned in the reviews is just holding me back from taking the plunge. Can't really justify getting atop panasonic plasma which virtually eliminates it.
Might just end up getting a really good 2d instead but worried I will regret that!
