Remember to use your Nectar Card and a Cashback credit card such as Amex Platinum, Morgan Stanley Platinum or Egg Card as an extra bonus. Voted hot!

Some Sainsbury's were selling these for £610 a few weeks ago, so £699 is not so hot and some people moaned that it was quite and old model with one HDMI socket.

I'm boycotting Sainsburys in light of the Whistleblower report. Just how do you collect a 40 inch TV anyway? Same TV can be found online for £699 (plus 1p delivery) when searched through Kelkoo. This includes a 3 year warranty. :)

Think that is possibly a back projection Sony TV. Cheapest Sony LCD or Plasma at 50 inch would be over £1200.

Purchased, thanks :)

This makes me laugh when people hear about a couple of rogue employees on a documentary designed to create negative hype to fuel the publics wrath, and then decide that the whole of sainsburys is some evil stealth army trying to slowly poison us with their food. Do you think it never happens at ASDA or Co-op?

Are you for real? Nothing on that programme was unique to Sainsbury's or tesco, just this week ASDA was fined a huge amount for having meat 30 days out of date on sale. That worries me more personally but it proves they are all as bad as eachother. Oh and the ready meal/houmous factory produced houmous for Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S, Waitrose, Co-Op & Somerfeild so it doesn't matter where you shop.

RE the TV a great price and the best bit is the easy returns policy - thats why I like buying from supermarkets :-D

That programme made me laugh. How many small independant high street butchers do you know who wouldn't mince a piece of sirloin thats only just gone out of date! If they didn't they wouldn't be in business for long I can assure you.

The supermarkets get a bad press, theyre all good guys just trying to make an honest buck.... hehe

Great find this and for anyone who is still after one and they are sold out, ask if they will sell you the display model (if they still have one). I bought the display model at my local today and managed to get an extra 10% off, and it had only arrived in store two days ago. Top telly for £630.:-D

Thanks for pointing this out. Picked one up from Cheltenham on Saturday. The Comet next door had them on a special Bank Holiday offer at £100 dearer !
