I had bought the Toshiba 40" last week from Sainsburys, which was posted on this site, but I returned it due to an on going problem with audio over HDMI input. After about two hours of blayback via HDMI, the audio starts to distort and sound like a Dalek. After doing some research on the net, it seems that Toshiba are quite aware of the problem but dont seem to have a solution.

I found this Sony on Saturday with the discount voucher and bought it. So far so good. Much better picture than the Tosh.

Does this TV have built in HD Freeview, so all you have to do is plug in your aerial to get the current three HD channels.
Or will I need a freeview HD box?

looks to me a good deal. Might end up ordering one.

Nope... its not HD Freeview. It has only a normal Freeview. You need additional HD box if you intent to receive HD channels.

For just a few quid more, this:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/689037/sony-bravia-kdl40ex401u-40-inch-wid would suit me better... as it comes with a 3 years Sony warranty.

Sadly past experience of Sony goods means you NEED extra warranty, as they are prohibitively expensive to repair when out of warranty, and they DO go wrong... OFTEN!

Sadly the voucher SONYTVIO has expired in Amazon. So the price is 499, which is £50 costlier than the current one.
