-16 already - **** me. are people putting cold because they don't like Sony or because it's not 3D? this TV got five stars in what hi fi and the DVD player did too.. I will never understand HUKD. I'm gonna get it and then sell the DVD played and stand and hopefully get the TV for 600 notes.

Not bad but there's better out there...

The blu-ray has been £99 several times at play/amazon, plently of places to get better stands for under £50 (The £35 alphason springs to mind at dabs.com).

So I'd personally get the 703 with the remaining balance... Can be got for £699 (below)

Or the 603 is £699 at currys (there's also a 5% off code and quidco bringing it down to £643)

Not a chance... You'd be lucky to get £30 for the stand, it's a basic looking one after all... The BDP-S370 players are often £99 new so you'll get about that. (the BDP-S373 is the same as the S370 but with a different remote)

Also remember the 603 and 703 are LED edge lit and give significantly better contrast rations and are significantly slimmer

a quick search on google shopping shows that this tends to retail at around £650ish mark:
http://www.froogle.prcdirect.co.uk/televisions/lcd-televisions/40-inch-lcd-televisions/kdl40ex503u/product

these guys also offer the blue ray player half price:
http://www.froogle.prcdirect.co.uk/blu-ray/blu-ray-player/bdps370b/product
so 60ish pound

all adds up to around 700 ish.
tbh i dont really see getting a 40" TV plus blue ray player for £800 as a hot deal...

especially when you have deals like this around:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/toshiba-40rv753b-40-inch-widescreen/735197

it does depend what level of quality you are looking for, but this still seems a fairly standard price.

soz cold from me.

I don't know if you've actually looked at any LED edge lit TVs in shops but to my eyes I've yet to see one that has a better picture than the CCFL lit EX503. In one case on an edge lit LG I could see each LED turn on and off which was just horrible.

Also don't forget that this has 5 years guarantee as well as all the other stuff. It's a good price for everything that comes with it.

Isn't the S373 the multi-region version?

Which is great if you live near their Essex store since it says buy instore. Also their guarantee prices are huge, a 5 year one as is included in this deal adds £200 making it £900ish.

As you say, that depends on what quality you are looking for and really as far as I could see the sony has much better quality and that extra £350 is netting you that extra quality, a £100 blu ray player, a 5 year guarantee worth £70 at the least and a stand. Personally I'd stump up the extra for sure but its very much each to their own.

If it wasn't for the high 60ms input lag on this set I think I'd be trying to get hold of this deal, the cheapest I've seen it for with 5 years guarantee anywhere near me is about £770 at Richer Sounds which I'd have to make a 100 mile drive there and back for.

However OP which Sony Center was this for? I'm not sure it will be at every one since they are franchised and therefore don't necessarily have the same deals on at every one.

sounds like DRAGO_MKII is on my wave length.

mrpremium - the LEDs have bad reviews. that's why i was going for this. check avforums. some people have swapped the led for this tv because they were so unhappy.

JW13 - you posted a TV that costs £850 with five year guarantee - how is that sensible?

Interesting, thanks I am personally hanging fire for the 3d range, we have 52" sony now and want either the same sie or bigger but there's only the 60" out in 3d which gets poor reviews...

The deal does look ok but I think you'd be reaching to expect to be able to get £200 for the BDP and stand...

Oh and to the above comment, the s373 is NOT region free. The remote is the only difference, it is a nicer remote though... Theres a guy on ebay that rents the oneforall multi region remotes ready set up and instructions etc, you pay him £30 and then he sends the remote, then you send it back and get £23 back.... so he makes £5 profit and costs you about £8 with postage etc...

I take it you mean the oneforall thing is a region unlock that the guy sells? I wasn't bothered about it I just thought thats what the difference was with the 373 over 370. If not no worries.

You're right about not getting £200 for the ray player and stand. Not a hope. But even if you only got £100 from them that'd make it £700 for the TV with 5 year guarantee which is the best deal for that by £70. So I think it's still pretty harsh for this deal to be voted cold. Although the fact theres a good chance its specific to that store wont be helping.
