Hi, will it be available in the Aberdeen store? They never seem to have any offers, or even want to try and do a deal Thanks
Voted hot
#6
John Lewis selling this for £899 WITHOUT the Blueray Player!!
Not sure why this is SO cold??
#7
Hmmm. Getting chilly in here. I'm not voting as my locals never do these deals.
#8
Go on...

I'll vote hot. I;ve not seen this tv for less than about £750, so that makes the BD £100 and a free 5 yr warranty (although thats probably not worth the paper its written on). And the W series TV's are the badger's bits.
#9
W series TV and the 350 player? Hot.
#10
not sure about aberdeen sorry mate,
Many thanks for the comments guys, dont know why the other guys are voting cold, think they are all like sheep an following eachother without checking the facts
#11
why are these stupid retarded donkeys voting cold??? this is one of the best deals out there...sell the BD player for £150 and you get the TV overall price of £699 which is *f word*ing great.
#12
There is no accounting for people's stupidity! This is hot all day long. Good TV which has the new design. Decent, if a bit old Bluray player, and a 5 year warranty. Hot, hot, hot.

Do you get a stand with it?
#15
Good deal for the TV with the player. As mentioned you could sell the BDPS350 player and then that makes the TV a very good price! Voted HOT. It's thawing!

Just looked on Ebay. During the last 10 days the Sony BDPS350 has fetched between £160 and £218. £200 brings the TV down to £650. That's a bargain, especially with the 5 year warranty!
#16
Bluewater store i can comfirm are doing this for the advertised price but stock not in until Thursday 9th October.
Offer ends on Monday 6th October according to the Guy i spoke to on the phone.
#17
Very good price, although you can now get the W4500 model from Richer Sounds for £849, although without the warranty and BluRay player.
#18
Its a great deal but Im really peeved now because I just bought this package last Sunday for 899.99. They where out of stock but will have it next Monday. What do you think my chances are of gettting 50 quid back!!!

Very HIGH if you threaten to buy elsewhere if they don't price match this current deal!!
Good luck mate

Just bought this lot today, can't imagine which numpties think this is cold.

Richer sounds want £769 for the tv alone, plus £77 for a 5 year warranty.
So a free blueray player which retails @£250 with this deal

Heat and rep:thumbsup:

UPDATE: I've been told by a couple of Sony Centres that this is due mid-November, no prices yet.

Portchy mate, thanks so much for the deal info... I have been waiting for ages for a tele and blu-ray deal since i missed out on the bank holiday deal with dixons... whats new there right?!
Deal runs out tomorrow night (Monday nite)... I managed to get this from Brentcross sonex sony centre.

Anyway bought this, haven't hooked it up yet, as the floor needs doing first! 849, 5 year warranty and free blu-ray - a good one at that, which is better than the s300, should be a bargain, considering the non-sonex stores have the tele marked at £999!well the one in Harlow anyway!

I was wondering though, if anyone knew a good place to get HDMI cables, as I figured i might be gettting ripped off by the £30 quid plus for them gold ones from SONY.
Any ideas where I could get gold ones or "as good" ones, for cheap?

have your tried, play.com, amazon.co.uk, ebuyer.com?
#27
I have looked, but im not sure which is a good brand or whether the gold is what to go for, if i go for something cheaper say, is it going to make a difference, or is it as good as the ones sony were trying to sell to me. Anyone who has bought HDMI cables, got any to recommend? Cheers :-)

Just make sure you get a 1.3a rated HDMI cable (so that its able to take a 1080p signal) aside from that there's not alot of difference. The Synn range are OK (from Play.com)

although OOS at the moment

The link you sent is for 1.3b, is it different to the 1.3a you recommended? should i go for the "a"?

Hi mate, just bit confused. Did you recommend getting the 1.3a cables, but the link you sent is the 1.3b? Is it 'cos the 1.3a is OOS? So you are saying get cables similar to these, but get the 1.3a ones?
Just making sure..

Cheers buddy.

It's a bit of a read, but this should clear up any confusion http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/853

Unless you have the latest high end kit which supports 1.3 features, of which no blueray or hd dvd player can take advantage of, then you don't need to worry about 1.3a or 1.3b
#32
Sorry - theres not a lot of difference between 1.3a and 1.3b but for the sake of a £ or 2 there is no point NOT buying 1.3 rated leads even if your current kit can't use all of the features involved (although I believe the most useful 'new' feature is the support of additional Anynet/Regzalink/Vieralink etc. commands).

Lots of heat for portchy. Went into my local Sony Centre and got one. They are still selling the LCD Tv in House of Fraser (tec7) for £1199.99.

Thanks for the heads up portchy. Lots of respect.
#34
Hmm I phoned up the Sony Centre in Solihull today and they quoted £899 for the 40w4000 and then an extra £100 for the BDPS350 (With a 5yr Warranty)

I assume this deal has expired? Any idea if there's anymore similar offers coming up portchy on 40" models?

I was also looking at the 40v4000 and apparently that's been discontinued now?!
