I realise this is a higher model but deal of the week looks very similar yet £100 cheaper without any need for trade in.
#2
yea thats the whole point...its a better model. the deal of the week tv is around 3/4 years old , this is much newer and A LOT better in terms of specs. This TV is still £850 at john lewis so its a great price.

Btw, when voting hot or cold, you should be voting in terms of price in relation to that specific model and what its selling for in other shops. Don't vote it cold because a crappier model is cheaper than it.

In that case... I'm going to vote cold to **** you off then.

Being serious though... I'm voting cold because I'd rather put the money towards a better TV, if I was thinking of purchasing this.

You're such an idiot. All of your posts on this website are argumentative. I can't believe the mods have not banned you yet. You add nothing to this place and as such, you voting cold for such a stupid reason is exactly the kind of thing i expect you to do.

Please go away

HOT, more chance of getting one from a sony centre than richer sounds.
#15
I picked up the KDL-40W5810 from Tec7 during the bank holiday deal, for £529 with 5 year warranty.
I believe the 40V is a slighty different model.
#16
Q - I have an old Samsung CRT 32", do I ust take that into the store for trade in?

Without trade in Marks and Spencer £499, 5 year warranty, delivery and installation. if you are successful with quidco another 27 odd quid off. When I looked most prices with trade in only matched this. My local Sony Centre has ridiculous delivery charges, even if you pick it up from the store.

May I say freedom of speech! Thats what makes this forum funny, useful, and annoying at times some folks just need to take 5mins chill out and try and remember what is important to them!

Rant over.

PS I thought it was a hot deal,

Looked at the Sony and Panny side by side in Comet, had a play with the menu system etc.

I went with the Sony because I liked the X Media Bar interface, much like the PS3, the styling of the set and the remote control....

....I know they are stupid reasons to make a purcahse lol but it was so much shinier lol

I wasn't too impressed with the Panny's menu system, it had a big splash screen with pictures representing the different categories, it reminded me of really bad educational dvd's and i just couldn't stomach it lol

I know these are ridiculus reasons to pic a TV, totally, its like buying a HiFi as you like the colour!

But I would recommend taking your time and visiting a bricks and motar shop to compare sets side by side. Personally nowerdays the picture quality to me is so close I can't really tell the difference. Its not like when plasmas and lcd's first came out. If you buy a reputable brand you're normally okay.

Brilliant deal, voted hot

Wonder where they get their prices from, just phoned my local 2 branches and both were £699 with a possible £100 trade in, would have snapped their hands off if it was £599 with a possible £100 trade in.

I got this from M&S in store with a free sony blu-ray player & 5 years warranty a few weeks back. Brilliant TV. £599 that was...

Just phoned that branch and they are indeed £599 with an additional £100 tradein.

He said they are franchises and that's why each branch is different.

not necessarily just the OP's branch but hit and miss, give your local one a ring.

Even if my "local" has it it will still be me begging someone to drive (as I don't) and a 80 mile return trip.

If I'm reading right M&S are also doing instore Sony reductions by taking in a old set ?. If so I should be able to get the same set for same price.

EDIT : I'm reading it wrong, M&S don't. :(
