Argos have a clearance shop on Fleabay.
Cut and paste this number into Ebay's search facility.

And you will find this mp3 player for £28.99 plus £4.79 p&p.
That makes it £33.78 to your door.
However it is listed as refurbished.

The 8GB version is £49.99 + £4.99 p&p, and this is new, not refurbished.

Thinking of getting this but how does it compare with the 8xx series?

That's over twice as expensive!! Might as well say you can get 120Gb for £160 if it's all about storage capacity and not price???

Besides, it's £86 at Amazon or £81 at Dabs.... :whistling:

Haha

A lot of people can't afford to spend £96 on an mp3 player so it s not a bad deal really

Yeah, top tip mark

Just in case anybody didn't know, this player will take downloads from the BBc iplayer - http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/download_programmes/which_sideload

which is nice.

Was going to recommend the Creative Zen 4GB as it used to be £45 from Amazon, gone up to £55 now though unfortunately.... However that has an SD slot if someone wanted to add to the memory at a later date...

if this has a usb port can you download from a digital camera without a PC

This is an MP3 player? It has a socket to connect it to a USB port on a computer. It doesn't have a memory card slot for extra storage so you couldn't put a card from a digital camera in it.

Even on players that do have removeable storage, I don't know whether they would see pictures on the memory card.

No!

It was to highlight the fact that this is not cheap for 4GB. Never mind!

Most should see images perfectly fine, so long as they have the ability to view images (like the Creatives do).

Knowing Sony, possibly not. However, having not used one, I can't comment fully. Past experience has not been great though, as it required specific Sony drivers to work. However, once it is installed, I wouldn't be surprised if it would work with Winamp and Windows Media Player etc.

hmm.. I notice on the same page that the 4GB red version is listed http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001151/partNumber/5134610.htm
However the product part number is NWZS616FB, which is the 8GB version.
No stock available for home delivery, and no stock available locally for me, but may be worth a punt for someone.
