Amazing price for this, lovely portable 3g tablet.
#2
Well i'm in at this price.

Any tips on best value data sim at the mo?
#3
Great price for this.
Must use a microsd card in this though, as 4gb just isnt enough
#4
Is this 3g for data only, or can it also be used as a phone?

Anyone tried skype on one?

Great price, voted hot, but the two reviews on Amazon tend to confirm the apparent issues with the design - I'd suggest that unless someone specifically needs a feature of this device that they'd be better off putting the money towards the Asus Google Nexus 7, as that tablet has a future!

one of the reviewers does seem to have docked at least some marks because it fell out of his pocket and he lost it!

or wait for the surface device in November (slated at $199)

Drugs are bad!

Very Good price if this form factor is what you need but would personally go for the likes of the Nexus 7.

Can I just put my talkmobile iphone sim card in this and browse the internet on it, or would I need to pay £5 or something extra to enable tethering to make this work?

I paid £280 for the Sony tablet S and I don't regret it for a second, it's the best tablet going, even better than an ipad as it can do so much more!

Avoid at all costs this tablet has a lot of issues because of the 2 screens and the dimensions, it struggles with most Android apps as they don't scale right and this tablet makes a mess of things, even if they do work there's a great big line through the middle of your screen where it folds. Before sinking your money into this rubbish i would do your reading, why do you think that less than a year ago it was the best part of £500 now its this price, Sony tried to be clever but it failed miserably its a 3 legged race horse and should be shot to be put out of its misery.

Does iPhone apps work on Android tabs? Is yes can I report it over before or after reconnecting it to Andriod Jellybean. Would JB also make it iPhone compatible?

No, iPhone apps are incompatible with Android. The tablet P is unlikely to get JellyBean anytime soon.

its the worse thing sony has ever made.

Cold. seriously, get a nexus 7 if you are willing to spend this much on a tablet. 1000x better. The only thing this has going for it is 3G, but even then looads of phones (all ICS?) support a wifi hotspot so if you need a tablet on 3G, connect a nexus 7 via your phone.

since people seem to hate a simple 'it's crap' response, i'll spell it out; (some of it, anyway)
*older, outdated android 3 (possibly w/ some sony crap?) upgrades unlikely.
*stupid dual screens, poorly supported in android
*older tegra 2 (not fun, poor performance). cf. t3 on nexus
*worse screen resolution

horrible tablet.

I take my hat off to Sony for attempting to bring some originality to the table, but it's originality for the sake of it. A truly terrible piece of tech.

Try one in the flesh if you can; it's almost unusable.
#28
Remember when Sony were at the top of the pile and actually made desirable devices? Seems a long, long time ago.

Is 5.5" really classed as a tablet? ...It's only 0.2" bigger than a Samsung Galaxy note! (I think the Note 2 is actually rumoured to be 5.5")

Outdated Android 3 Honeycomb? --> No, Sony officially released Android 4.0.3 for this one (but updates from now on unlikely(?) and no custom ROMs so it seems, can easily be rooted however)

Worse Resolution, how? --> two 5.5" displays with 1024 x 480 each, better than most 10" tablets

It has two 5.5" screens, so folded open it is like having 2 Galaxy Notes next to each other (well, the size I mean)

Although the aspect ratio is quite different between the two, with pages properly fitting in the Note but not in the Sony (too widescreen shape).

Whatever the case, and regardless of how good/bad an offer seems to be, people don't think twice as most items I am seeing lately are always Expired after just a few hours...

And again, people completely forget/ignore the purpose of this website in order to just have a go at a product they don't like.

It;s a good price for a quirky bit of technology regardless of whether you like it or not. OOS now anyway but when this shows up again at £129 or whatever next time, I'll be voting hot based on the price/deal.

People forget that human beings use this website, and sound consumer advice is normally welcomed with open arms, except from a select few.

Android was built for browsing the web, using apps and making calls and texts. This does none of the above well, due to the redundant idea of split screen that has a gigantic gap in the middle, and as such is a complete waste of money.

Have a look at the reviews on Amazon from people who've actually bought the thing.

mine was despatched yesterday - but no sign of it today. boo!

Expecting mine today and have to try and hide it from my son as it will be his Christmas present....or I may decide to keep it myself. Not all the reviews are bad out there and a lot were written with the RRP in mind, and it is def not worth that.

Risky move you took there, buying fast moving tech 4 months before crimbo.

You'll only kick yourself when you see them for £99 in November, or when you find better tabs are available for the same money nearer the big day.
