I bought this TV in April '16 for £749 and have been really happy with it. You can download VLC onto it and play videos straight off a USB plugged in with no issues.

Supposedly HDR has just been enabled on it too.

Tempting, For reference this appears to be the UK version of http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x810c Vs the http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x850c which JL and Richersounds have for £800.
Pros: Directlit, so better for games and sports, slightly cheaper
Cons: 1 year warranty and no 3D.

If I could get this from JL or RS for this price I would. However £100 for peace of mind for 5-6 years would be worth it for me.

If you want a TV from Argos, this is a steal.

I have had two of these, absolutely fantastic picture and I loved the android OS, which many people have had problems with, but which caused me no problems after the initial updates.
I unfortunately had to send both back though as the black corners on both panels were HORRENDOUS. One panel had two really dark bottom corners, and the other had two slightly dark bottom corners and a super dark top left corner.
I suspect a manufacturing problem with the positioning of the back light, unwatchable on pictures with sky or sports with large blocks of colour. Such a pity as I otherwise loved them.

I have also bought the 43X8305C for £599 as a bedroom tv, it doesn't have the VA panel though, it's IPS but so far picture is fantastic.

I have bought this 55" today for the living room but haven't opened it yet because I'm waiting on Martin Dawes to return my TV mount brackets from my faulty VT50

I've had this TV since December 2015, my only issue is on shots with a grey or light background that pan vertically you can clearly see 4 or so bright horizontal lines across the whole width of the tv, which is probably the led backlight, I haven't heard of anyone else have this issue though and I'm reluctant to return it as it's amazing in most other regards.

no way is the viewing angle 178 x178 though, being a variety panel, picture quality reduces significantly 35 degrees horizontal and even less horizontal

Don't worry, appears to be out of stock anyhow.
