Same here, £65 at a local camera shop. Is it worth 'upgrading' ?

Are you satisfied with this Minolta lens? Just thinkin' about buying one for my A200

I tend to use this site http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/index.asp a lot if I am looking for a lens. More often, the older KM lenses come out on top compared to newer ones (usually sharper & better colours) when you read the owner's reviews. If you can source at a good price, then go for KM variant. You could also consider the Big beercan (75-300), but these still fetch around £150 or more on ebay and are heavy beasts.

The lens that any self-respecting Sony Alpha user should own is The Beercan..beautiful lens.

The 70-210 Beercan is heavy so I'd hate to think how heavy the Big Beercan is...need to be a bodybuilder when I have the Beercan lens and flash on the camera.:-D

Yeah, I have the Beercan & it is heavy, weighing 695; the Big Beercan is 865g :w00t:
Both are well-made bits of kit and now 20+ years old.

That's an old Minolta design for 35mm cameras. This lens is not optimised for DSLR sensors. I would expect low quality photos.

you're incorrect, the SAL75-300 at Jessops is for new Sony DSLR cameras
guess you don't have a Sony then..........

Impressive price, heat added. if I had a Sony, rather than a Pentax, I'd be very tempted to go for this.
