Or you can get a copy from ebay from £30, there's not a lot of difference.

What is this even supposed to do?

You can have 2 batterys instead of one in ya camera and makes life easier if you do a lot of portrait shots with the added buttons.

Much as I like the idea of one of these I think £99 is ridiculous. Although no doubt this is better made than the cheap ones you will only really benefit in my opinion if you take a lot of portrait shots as it makes holding the camera easier.

Batteries last days if ya not using the flash anyway so not like I need the power.

I love my grip, I wasn't sure about getting one, but I leave it on all the time now. It adds height to the grip in landscape as well to make holding the camera more comfortable, it also adds weight that balances the camera and lens better, I find my hands are more steady.

I can burn through the 2 batteries in the grip in a day if taking a LOT of shots.

Yeah gotta say I loved having a grip on my Sony A200..Makes you feel more professional for some reason. :) Just recently got rid of mine cause I upgraded to the Sony A700 and the battery grip for that is around £199 oO

As I say the 3rd party ones one ebay are very good. I got one for my 500D, + 2 batteries + charger for about £35 and it's 90% as good as an official one I'd say.
