These Sony models are good cameras for live view, but nearly useless for low light photography. Hope the new models are somewhat better.

These Sony DSLR are like any other camera...........great but you need to set the camera up for low light shots. To say that a new Sony dslr is nearly useless in low light is a tad extreme......You! have no idea of low light performance using a dslr, be it a Sony or Nikon or a Canon.........

This lot were taken at night using a basic kit lens.........and they used a Sony A200.....the cheapest in the range.....

What about a sunset ........I would say that constituted a low light shot!!

No.................These Sony dslr camera's are fine for what you pay ................but to say they are useless or as near as useless...................is a bit harsh. They are worth every penny.

It is worth pointing out that the A350 has a 14.2 MP sensor compared to the A200's 10 MP but the sensors are the same physical size which can mean a slightly poorer low light performance on the higher resolution sensor.

The A350 has liveview but this in turn reduces the magnification in the viewfinder, so depending on how and where you use your camera the A200 or the A300 can be a better choice than the A350, a lot depends on how much you really need the extra resolution which most people don't.

It is however a pretty good price.
