Good value entry DSLR. My advice to people who are thinking of 'getting into' photography is to look at the prices and availability of compatible items, flashes, lenses etc before plumping for a particular brand.

Sony dslrs can take most of the old Minolta Lenses but in general don't have as much gear available for them as Nikon or Canon. Sony lenses tend to be a bit behind the best too, but can be cheaper because of the inbuild shake reduction.
