Just pointing out that lots of people do not live near a Tesco that they can pick up from and cashback isn't guaranteed - however with the extra points (see below) it is still worth, it even if you have to pay the £5.00 delivery.
Use code TDX-EXCP see banner on tesco website for extra 500 points so £10.38 in points.

It's a nice enough camera (I tried it out yesterday as it happens). The Grip is very tight though. Not comfortable like a Canon BUT this is a good price. And there's no Liveview. Not a problem to me but some may want it.

I'm wanting to get back into photography having left it sometime ago. I used to us an Olympus SLR. The main reason I gave it up was the processing costs. Now with digital you can store the images on a PC and pick and choose what you'd like processing. I'd love to get a Canon 40D but they don't make them any more and I'm apprehensive of buying second hand.

Tempting. I'm a point-and-click photographer who's looking to move up a bit. Just not sure whether to buy a top-end digcam with all the features, or get an entry-level dslr and start on a high learning curve. You can get a high-spec panasonic FZ38 for the same price as this .... dilemma

I would go for the DSLR any day . A entry level DSLR is still better than a high spec point and shoot. The sensor on a DSLR is, if I remember, roughly 20 times the size of the average point and shoot- meaning you'll get better quality photos with less noise. There are so many more benefits to a DSLR that it's best to check a site dedicated to them to help make up your mind.

All I can say is I wouldn't go back to using a point and shoot now I have my DSLR. I can take pictures now I couldn't dream of when I had a P&S.

Personally prefer my Panasonic FZ38 for £224. Not a DSLR but for me the extra complication isn't necessary.

FZ38 is much lighter as well.

Beacuse having shutter lag, high iso noise and no flash hot show is so much more useful.

The Pansonic is decent but will not be in the same league as even a budget dlsr for image quality.

Re-read my post - PERSONALLY I prefer the FZ38. More user friendly than a DSLR for me.
