The powerful Sony Alpha A500 digital SLR camera couples superb image quality with fast, responsive shooting – and at Jessops.com you can grab this camera as a superb-value kit with 18 to 55 mm zoom lens included.

Driving the Alpha A500 is Sony’s state-of-the-art BIONZ image processing engine, providing speedy processing times even in Live View mode as well as low battery consumption. The Alpha 500’s 12.3 megapixel sensor adds to the raft of technologies, enabling photos to be cropped and enlarged without losing vital quality.

The 18-55mm lens included with this popular SLR camera choice is versatile enough to take close portraits through to expansive wideangle shots, and when teamed with the Sony Alpha 500 DSLR’s impressive ISO range of 200-12,800, moving subjects and low light images can be captured with minimal blurring or graininess. Steady Shot image stabilisation is built into the body of this Sony DSLR to eliminate camera shake no matter what lens is attached.

Adding a trio of features to ensure speedy, accurate and responsive shooting is Quick AF Live View, putting live image previews, super-fast precise autofocus and rapid continuous shooting at your finger tips. Meanwhile, Manual Focus Check Live View lets you know when subjects are in crystal clear focus, even in low light.

Adding to the cache of clever tools is an advanced Face Detection system for more flattering portraits and group shots, plus the ingenious Smile Shutter which automatically fires the shutter when the subject smiles!

Images are kept blemish free, thanks to the Sony Alpha A500’s dual Anti-Dust system, while four-frames-per-second shooting allows a continuous burst of JPEG photos at full resolution for breathtaking action shots.

The Sony Alpha A500 features a large, tilting 3.0” LCD screen for easy framing and review of images, while its HDMI output allows it to be connected to a high definition (HD) television, including the Sony Bravia, which allows the camera’s playback functions to be controlled effortlessly via the Bravia’s remote.

Was thinking of getting the A230, but this isn't a million miles away in price for what I guess is a better camera.

If this is new and within first 6 months Argos have to take this back "As not suitable!" That's it. you do NOT need to tell them anymore.

Check out the sale and supply of goods act and newer selling regulations, recently changed.

They have to adhere to them.

Hi Renegade, I got it in the sale after tracking down all the argos's my sister got one for me in the branch waltham cross, and when she paid for it the woman said this is non returnable, as it was a special offer price, basically i paid £250 for it instead of £300 and also the woman that put it in the bag said the same thing, i dont know if it says anything on the receipt, but im guessing i will have a wasted trip ???

This should be so much hotter; it's a great starter camera but with some advanced features to push your camera taking plus the kit lens is actually a good lens too, worth over £100 by itself.

The law still applies.................Argos are wrong.

Contact Trading Standards 1st and confirm before you go back to Argos.

They can be prosecuted for telling you that you know.

No, you Contact Trading Standards in your area and let them know.

Argos seem to have a policy where any camera purchased is non returnable unless its faulty. No refund only a replacement as I found out.

If you query it they will say it's store policy and there is nothing they can do about it.
