With 5% RAC code and 4% Quidco, I calculate you could get this as cheap as £182.39. Very good reviews and award winning 10.2 mp camera. Image shown doesn't really do the camera justice. See below for link to a nice 3d zoom image.

Not bad, but you can get the a200 for around the £230 mark, good camera, i have one.

I've had one of these before and they are as good as any DSLR for beginners. Can't see any mention of lenses and that RRP is having a laugh.

The camera feels a little old to me now. Great at low ISO settings but go anywhere near 400 or above and image quality goes out the window. The kit lens (if it comes with one that is) is extremely poor.

That said however, if you plan on entering the DSLR market it's a great starter camera. Easy to use, in-body image stablisation, nice sharp pictures etc. I'd just recommend getting a good lens to get the most out of the experience.

Doesn't it come with a good few different lenses?

Looks like this is the body only and you need to buy a lens as well.

Sorry, that is a cold deal in my opinion Andy, It is just for the camera body only and this has been superceded by the brilliant A200...These were on offer for £230 with a lens, I was fortunate myself to pick one up at the M6, J9 reopening of Currys for £199.

Consider the price of a new lens being anything from £70 upwards, and the A100 now being an obsolete camera, its not the best of deals even at £188

Fine mate.

Are you sure there's no lens though? The 3D image on Play is VERY misleading if there is no lens.

Cold Vote I'm afraid,

I got the A200 with 18-70 lens for a similar price (I think less with cashback) in the last round of offers.

Cannot get the 3d image to load at all for some strange reason, however it doesn't state what lens it comes with in the item description, which if it did come with a lens you would think they would state the range...the A200 as standard comes full kit (body + 18 to 70mm Lens)

Not loading for me either now.

I'll not be getting it, based on your and other advice. Though I do need a new camera. I'm using 6MP; but I do so much stuff in PShop a 10+ camera would be nice.

To be honest Andy, depending on the size prints you want, lens quality and the CCD sensor quality is most important in cameras over megapixels.

DSLR have the advantages over compact cameras in picture quality, enhanced shutter speeds, better low light photography with or without external flashes they work better than a compact.....but most importantly with DSLR is the ability to swap and change lenses to suit the situation (at a cost)

Unfortunately you missed the boat on the A200 with £30 sony cashback at Amazon, its currently £250, however as a beginners DSLR is a good choice, with good reviews. Unlike the Nikons in the same price range it has autofocus and antishake built into the body of the camera rather than the expense of it being in the lens...and since Sony took over Minoltas operations, is compatible with a range of used Minolta lenses.
