Why the cold votes? This is a £350 lens for £140. If that's not a hot deal then I don't know what is :?

Because some people have no clue when it comes to photography or the associated DSLR kit :whistling:

I'll bump this up with 9 degrees of heat ;-)

It's a pity they don't have any canon or canon-fit lenses in their sale. A canon 18-200mm lens for this price would certainly make my christmas!!

heres another 4

I guess people are looking at the deal posted 10 mins before and comparing this to that and not realising lenses range from £xx-£x,xxx anyway I picked one up earlier and im really happy with it.

Here are a couple of quick test shots I took over the mendip hills at 18mm and 200mm (shame it was so foggy)

Have any stores actually got any?

No idea where you live but I'm in Bristol and theres 4 stores near me with stock, my closest store sold it's last one yesterday and from what he said when I phoned today I don't think they have any more available at the warehouse hence at the top I said while stocks last and I picked up the last one from the next nearest store today. I imagine they will all be gone in a couple more days and I'm assuming that's why it's this price for a quick clearance!

I'm after another lens for my A200 and was wondering wether or not to go for this deal, try and get hold of a beercan or this - Sony Alpha 75-300mm F4.5-5.6 Lens for £132.11

any help really appreciated

Depends on what you will be using the lens for? The 18-200 is a great "vacation lens" ie it will cover most situations with it's wide focal range, the 70-300mm is a good 'budget' lens (the 70-300mm G SSM has much better glass but costs a considerable amount more) for longer distance/sports/birds etc and £132 is definately a good price for it. Beercans are always good for on a budget too, im assuming your talking about the minolta 70-210 f4?

thanks softpurple, I'm really after a lens that will take good landscapes and sport, I have to admit I'm a complete newbie and have just picked up the odd thing here and there. Seems like I will go for the 70-300 as the 18-200 has gone near me. Thanks for your help and have a great New Year!!!
