Same price + free headphones @ Richer Sounds

Yeah but thats instore only & therefore far more limited, Where as anyone anywhere can order this.
#3
Personally I think the free headphones will be the better deal, and you will get the free blu-rays surely? But the other one is instore only

If you live near a richer sounds with stock then i would go for that  but if not i would go for the online deal, I wouldn't care about the headphones personally (just my opinion) as they only cost £4.99.
[mod]#5
IMO I agree with you adsldave. OK, you get some headphones with my post/deal; but if you don't live near Richer Sounds you gotta buy this one.

Its easy to make it multi region. I did it myself with a remote and code.
#14
Dont forget the price beat guarantee at richersounds. If you fancy using it over the 95p difference you could pick it up for £149 but if like me recently youll struggle to find any stock (in the end got a multi region one for £159 using price beat).Still worth a try in these tough times.
Superb player btw and like others said well recommended.

That's only Multi region for DVD though isn't it (not Multi Region for Blu Ray).
#18
That's right, only dvd multi region, not blu ray.
#19
While I like my film quality, I have yet to venture into BR as I think it still cost a lot.

I'll wait until these are about half the price before buying, by that time the BR disc will
probably be cheaper and the BR blanks will also come back in price too.

managed to get an ex display samsung bdp-1400 from pc world for £45, which is still a bargain even though its only profile 1.0 and i've already spent way over £45 of BD's since having it..

Thats a rip off i paid £140 for the blu ray player and 6 blu rays on amazon COLD

Btw can i say that unless you put the standy mode on the player on it takes a while to boot up whereas its super fast to boot up in standby mode

One for all remotes are the most popular choice, Just go over to avforums.com & do some reading.

I will list the hack below (you will need a one for all remote obviously - can get a cheap 2nd hand one from ebay for a few quid). There are various different one for all remotes that should work, Just search avforums or post a thread asking to get an answer.

Programming the 7040 OneforAll remote to enable region free playback of DVD’s on the Sony BDP-S350

Quote:
1. Press DVD
2. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
3. Press 0533

4. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
5. Press 994
6. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
7. Press 1891 (this sets key 1 – the DVD button flashes twice)

8. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
9. Press 994
10. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
11. Press 2552 (this sets key 2 – the DVD button flashes twice)

12. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
13. Press 994
14. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
15. Press 0953 (this sets key 3 – the DVD button flashes twice)

16. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice.
17. Press 994
18. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
19. Press 2214 (this sets key 4 – the DVD button flashes twice)

20. Hold the magic button until the DVD button flashes twice. .
21. Press 994
22. Press Magic Key (don't hold)
23. Press 0795 (this sets key 5 – the DVD button flashes twice)
Done - the remote is now programmed and ready to use

Quote:
1. Now to make your player region free use the Sony remote that came with the player to bring it out of standby and wait while HOME is displayed
2. Make sure there isn't a disc in the machine.
3. Now on the OneforAll remote press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (The blue 24p light on the player will start flashing)
4. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote
5. That’s it, the next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback
If the blue 24p light doesn’t flash then it hasn’t worked, try a new set of batteries and start a fresh

ps3 is bad blu ray player :whistling:

Its not great compared to some of the top end players on the market, but then again neither is the 350.

With Blu Ray the gap between top and bottom isn't as great as it was with DVD or Video mind you so you still get a good player without breaking the bank
