I thought this was an ok deal before it arrived, I just wanted to use some vouchers I had for Christmas. When it arrived I was amazed to find out it was the one with 3 free blu ray films, as this is not mentioned in the description on M&S website. It comes with Terminator Salvation, Slum Dog Millionaire and Angels & Demons Blu Ray.

This seems like a hit or miss to me. Since it doesn't say that it comes with the films, M&S might not do this with all orders. Still, could be worth chancing on. I'll heat it up. =)

Still is quite cheap though - i was just about to post a deal for the same player instore at HMV in Aberdeen for £119

It didnt say anything about 3 Blu-rays either.

Seems a better deal at £99!

I need to check Blockbuster tomorrow. I'm almost certain I sure the Sony BDP-S560 for £129.99 with 3 films yesterday. Will confirm tomorrow, anyway.

Think some do and some don't. One bloke said he never got the DVD's from comet, but I know another bloke who did. Richer Sounds had it on, for 79.99, hard to say if it was a genuine offer, and that was without 3 discs. I believed they came with them. If so Richer may have taken them out the box. The free dvd's fetch a fair price on ebay if you get them and don't like them, Still a fair player for normal dvd and punting the free stuff reduces the cost. Phone them up and find out, could do it on skype and record the call incase they say they have and don't.

This one doesn't have the 3 movies, it's this one and it's out of stock: http://linkee.com/PnYN1h

I ordered both and this one actually had the 3 movies on the invoice

It is not a repost, that one didn't have the 3 free blu rays. Please state where you can get this cheaper with 3 very decent blu rays and a 2 year guarantee?

Very hot, was just going to post this myself. Likewise ordered and very pleased to find 3 free blu rays @ £99 this is a steal. Blu Ray films alone are worth nearly £80 RRP £50 in reality.

Can I ask a dull question?
Can you play normal DVDs on this? as my husband has over 200 dvds and wouldnt be pleased if I got rid of the normal player?
Also we have just bought a LCD TV 1080 Full HD tv, its 40" would we need any special lead to make the quality better? I am really interested in this for that price, just need to know these answers before I buy.
Thank you x

Beth you can play normal dvd's on it and it also upscales them which will make them look better.
You will need a hdmi lead which can be bought for a couple of quid.
#15
thank you Arise, is the hdmi lead like a scart? Or will there be seperate input holes for them lol. As long as he can play his dvds then he will be a happy bunny either way :)

HDMI leads are different to scart leads. Effectively, they both do the same thing - transmit audio and video but HDMI is for high-definition content (Sky HD, PS3, blu-ray etc).

it does, otherwise how would you store bd live content
#22
the films are mentioned on the sony website, not sure if there are in the box or if you have to register then you get them....they did this with the 350 but obviously different films, there was limited info and the packaging didnt state anything but on opening the box there were 3 free films, in addition if you registered you got 2 more free films (so 5 free films in total - hancock, mama mia, wall e, casino royale and batman begins )
#23
are the films boxed?
#24
good price!
#25
if it really comes with 3 movies then hot from me!

I actually phoned M&S up on Wednesday to try to clarify the difference between the 2 seemingly identical bdps360 models on the M&S website, as expected she didn't really have a clue, but she spoke to a web team collegue and he said it was probably a mistake, and one will probably be removed, and sure enough couple days later one is removed (I had added both to the basket, just incase they might change one, and sure enough the one with the "B" after the product code, which actually had correct photo, and more accurate spec listed on the product page, is removed/OOS :?)

but she never mentioned anything about the player coming with 3 movies, she pretty much just goes by what's written on the website, couldn't really give me any more info, so not much help at all, maybe the OP got lucky, and M&S either got their stock mixed up and sending people the stock with 3 movies for the same price, or M&S is really generous and really are selling at this price with free movies

I was tempted to go for the M&S deal, but had already ordered from Dixons on Monday for £120 with the 3 "free" movies, I could have cancelled that but couldn't confirm the M&S deal had the 3 movies after calling on Weds, so ended up with Dixons which was dispatched on Thurs, by DHL & supposed to be next day delivery, but nothing on Friday :-( :x

Btw people who had the bdps360 which had 3 movies in the box, are all 3 movies the normal retail versions? or some special promo only/not for resale versions with special covers or cases or logos?
#27
The B after the name should mean that the version of the player will only play Region B (Africa, Southwest Asia, Europe (except Belarus, Russia and Ukraine) and Oceania) blu-rays. Without the B means the player is will play blu-rays from any region. Or at least that's what it means for the BDP-S560 - can't confirm that info will be correct for the BDP-S360.
#28
Can this be made Multi-Region?:?
#29
Not all of these players come with these 3 free films. They should be included in the box but this is not standard as far as I know.

I believe there is a remote hack to make the player DVD multi region using all-in-one or logitech harmony.

It can for DVD only

http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-ray-players/1048033-sony-bdp-s360-s363-uk-owners-thread.html

Don't believe these all come with 3 films - only special edition boxes.

That is COMPLETELY wrong.

None of the main manufacturers (Sony/Panasonic etc) make Multiregional Blu-Ray players. All of them require a hardware mod chip to make them Multiregional for Blu-Rays.

If your BDP-S560 was bought from the UK & has not been modded, it will not be Multiregional for Blu-Rays. You may have some US discs that are region free that play on your machine but region A coded discs will not work.

The BDP-S360, BDP-S360B & the BDP-S360B.CEK are all the same model. The US model is not called the BDP-S360A.
Some websites list the full model number, some websites don't bother. It doesn't mean there are 3 different models for sale in the UK.
eg, Terminator Salvation is called, Terminator Salvation Extended Cut @ Amazon, Terminator 4 @ Play.com, & Terminator Salvation Directors Cut @ HMV. They are all the same version:thumbsup:

You're off your head:p

Prices for media are falling off a cliff - less than a tenner is commonplace at retail. If you have to flog them yourself then a fiver is about the mark with a load of grief too:whistling:

I eBayed the films when I bought this bundle from Comet just after Christmas.
I made £28.50 after fees and postage.

It wasn't much hassle either IMHO.
10 minutes to list them eBay and they all sold within 2 days.
Popped them in envelopes and dropped them off at the Post Office on the Monday.
Positive feedback received for all 3 within days.

yeah, agree with the falling BD price, with these 3 movies being newish releases, the poster above did pretty well in getting £28 after fees & postage (ebay & paypal making a killing) I just bugeted the 3 movies to worth about £20, and with £3 odd quidco from Dixons, getting the player for just under £100 is a decent deal, still annoyed with not going out on boxing day getting the comet deal £100 with 3 movies, or the new years day deal when dixons had the 3 movies +player for £110, hesitated and the next day they jacked up by £10, and now another tenner upto £130 :x

this player does not have a scart connection- it has hdmi - as described above, line out/video out jack and component video out jacks.

but then a prospective buyer might as well go to their local shop and buy it as new!

Slumdog is retail but Angels & Demons & Terminator Salvation are slimline prom boxes with not for resale or rent on ! The box with the discs had an outer sleeve that shows the 3 movies and the invoice mentions them.
#40
I have this got it from AskDirect for £114.99 with the 3 discs and all of mine state not for resale or rental on them.. AskDirect actually say the films are included so if you are wanting to make sure the discs are included order from someone that states they are.
Have used the bdlive for the first time yesterday, takes a while to load even on a 50mb connection and if your a film buff this feature is worth having. If your like my daughter and I you will wonder what all the fuss was about lol.
