Can also be DVD (NOT blu ray) region hacked using a one4all remote....

....although I saved myself the trouble and got a remote pre programed, worked a treat.

Hmm tempted to return the limit for this......?

Good price. Heat added.
What is the picture quality like on this model? Is this the entry level BD player from Sony?

There is a slightly newer S363 model but I believe its very similar, just a different remote.
Maybe a price war between Amazon and Play.
Whichever- its good for those thinking about taking the plunge with a 'quality' Bluray player.

Said I didn't need one, but with a replacement drive for PS3's costing £50 this will offset the ware and tare on my PS3. Cex are also giving £11 for the film. Although expect this to drop through the floor when they get flooded with the film!

You having a dig at the "Limit" owners there? Just because it's a Sony does not mean it's a quality BD player!

Amusing that people were getting up at the crack of dawn on boxing day to attempt to get one of the few Richer Sounds had in stock at this "amazing price" only to find 3 weeks later the same price at Play + a Blu Ray Disk on top!

Awesome deal. However, I'm gutted as I payed £99 from M&S. I received it today. Unfortunately, I have already broken the seal by opening the box. I doubt if they will take it back. Does anyone know if M&S will price match?
I have been keeping an eye on this model for some time - and trust me, this is an absolute bargain. Grab one while you can. This model has won all sorts of awards.

Just what I was looking for, many thanks :-)

Typical. Hate it when they do this! Bought this 2 weeks ago for 94.99

Amazing deal ! Great find!
#22
Voted hot- great deal at the moment, although I wouldn't buy it myself - I don't trust Sony and the ommission of an eject button on the remote is not just irritating; it shows a complete disconnect between manufacturer and user (a more and more common Sony fault). Makes me also wonder if they omit something as straightforward and downright obvious as this what else have they ommitted?

Does this machine take standard sized usb sticks ie sandisk 8 gigs and 16 gigs as i heard the usb port is at the back, is recessed and a bit fiddly. Also does it play most formats off said usb ie avi, mkvs etc?

yes, this is the 'current' entry level model-though you won't think so when you see the picture. very very good. sharp, detailed with rich colours.....sorry, beginning to sound like a reviewer now!

of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder - we all see things slightly differently but at 79.99 with a free disc, it is an absolute bargain. ( I paid 94.99 and i don't feel gutted seeing the new price).

Awesome post.....been watching these since they came out....wanted it as part of a all in one package, but at this price....will buy speaker set separate!! thanks for the original posting!
#27
For the technically minded out there .......How does this compare to the limit machine from HMV ?

Personally I don't see this as an issue, with the time it takes a blu-ray player to start playback of a disk, you have to go up to the unit to be able to place a disk in the tray, placing a disk in then closing the tray manually whilst you walk back to the sofa I don't think is that much of an issue!

Taking the disk out as well, not too complicated, go to the player, press the eject button again and wow...you are within the vicinity to be able to remove the disk and place it in its case.

Eject button on the remote? What difference does that make? you still have to get up off your backside to put a disk in?

Dont really understand what this guy is getting at???
#33
Great, hot, thanks.
#34
Why expired, its still on offer?
#35
Just see Amazon have reduced price to £79.99 aswell. No free free blu ray disc though. Let the price war begin!;-)
