The Sainsburys unit would be Region 2 only as well and the Richer Sounds is instore as well just like the Sainsburys deal!

Thanks to OP - just picked up one of these from the Salford Sainsbury's.

Marked £99.99 on the shelf, with £70 off sticker. There were 4 more available at this store.

If it's like the 360 it can be made region free with a One for All remote

Hot deal if you can get it.

None of my local Sainsbury's stores stock this (Cheshire), so went to Richer sounds in Stockport. They were out of stock of the region 2 player at £99.95, but had the MP version for £120 which was still a better than most places. Amazon are doing the region 2 version for £107.35.

Nice player by the way. Slimline case and seems pretty quick. Streams iPlayer HD nicely on my 8MB broadband connection.

Excellent player, picked mine up for £99 as well, comet were selling at £129 and I traded in an old dvd player I had lying around, got £30 off for that, so this a good deal in my eyes. Loading is so quick with this, in comparison to my PS3, this thing is half way through the movie while the PS3 loads up the menu :p

Also have an ethernet cable plugged in, so can access music, videos, pics etc from my PC. All in all, a great little blu ray/media unit. Hot from me.

Do you know if you can play 1080p MKV's ok over this?
harrythedog#17
I have a unlimited Lovefilm account. Do you have to purchase the dongle thingy as well as the player to access online films? ps my broadband is testing at 6.9mps

Many thanks for any advice

Excellent piece of kit, worth it for BBC iPlayer HD.
hajj_3suspended#19
remember richersounds will beat this price by £5 for those of you who live near 1 of their stores, so £94.

This doesn't read NTFS formatted usb pens/hard drives btw.
