Sony BDP-S370 Blu-ray Disc Player

has been this price at Amazon some weeks ago, but now back to 119.99 there.

Great price for a player with very good reviews.

EDIT: Amazon.co.uk also reduced their price now to £99.99

It's a brilliant Blu Ray player for the money. I've been waiting for the price to come down and bought it. On Amazon the HDMI cable is a freebie at the checkout which may make the amazon deal superior. I don't know.
#13
Ordered from play as I had a gift voucher, just awaiting stock hope they get some :)
#14
will wait for bank holiday weekend ;)

I know this says it's internet enabled but can you stream from your PC to it? I've been looking for a DLNA tv but this might be a good chance to buy a slightly cheaper TV and a bluray player
#16
Jeff, yes you can.

Apart from MKV files I think you can but you will need a usb dongle since this model does not have builtin wi-fi.

I stream DivX movies over ethernet from my PC (via my router) using DLNA with and it's no problem as well as music and photos. I've even done MKV's but it can take a bit of fiddling and depends on the encoding so it's not exactly a standard thing (I'm not an expert on this so please go easy on me!) I've watched a BD rip of Prince of Persia streamed from my PC so I know it works. The device is amazing. I'm very choosy about what hi-fi and AV equipment I buy and it's outstanding value for money (got mine from the Costco deal earlier in the year for £80!). You won't be sorry if you buy it. Voted hot.

no mate, i clicked on the same link i did before, i was right - play reduced the price - they do this sometimes!
#20
Good player for under £100. It has been cheaper though but still hot for a great player
#21
Thanks for the the advice guys, think I'll go for this.

Does it make any noise when there is no disk in it? One of the problems I have with streaming to the XBOX right now is the fan noise. I don't mind it but her indoors finds it distracting!
#22
No noise.
#23
And yes this has been cheaper at Costco but that isn't a deal that I believe will repeat before Christmas. Also I think this is about as cheap as amazon are going to price this prior to Christmas too.
#24
Missed the Argos £80 a few weeks back and hoping it is the same price again soon.
#25
Great! Been watching this on Amazon since last price hike!

Just ordered thanks!

One thing holding me back from getting this is the fact that the external USB HDD has to be FAT32 format so there is a file size limit of 4GB.

Movies larger than 4GB need to be split up in smaller pieces.

Amazon price now £119.99

If this is the only thing that's holding you back then fair enough, but it's a shame. Threre's software about on the net to split these although I realise it could be an inconvenience. It did cross my mind at first but the fact that it streams across my network makes this irrelevant for me, but I realise that it may not be the case for you.

Darn, just couldn't resist ordering one....

This site is getting expensive to view.....

I know, its just the inconvenience of it all.

Still showing as out of stock @ Play :(

Starting to consider cancelling the order and going for the S470 instead, even though it is more expensive.

Looks like Play now have the stock, but been at "packing" stage for last 24 hours....

Well it arrived on Wednesday, had no iplayer until Sony US resolved the authentication problem and I reset the personalised settings to allow unit to download the revised setup.

Have watched 1 bluray so far, picture and sound seem nice indeed and it certainly starts up quicker than my Philips BDP3000.
