Sony BDP S380 Blu-ray player - £49.98 @ Tesco (instore)
First of all - I don't have proof of this at the moment, I can upload in about 5-6 hours when I get home, so you'll have to trust me until then.
Parents just phoned me to let me know these were currently on clearance at this price. Best price I have seen them to date and finally tempted me to sway away from the PS3 as our blu-ray player.
Anyway, this was in the Hayes store and my dad's claiming there's 3 left.
Reviews on Amazon are very favourable, so check them out on the link below.

I did search, but that didn't come up. Sorry!
No idea, but it plays everything I throw at it, blu ray, DVD, MKV, MP4, divX, xvid, wmv, and every audio file I own (not sure about FLAC).

that sounds like it doesnt have it then, id keep away from updating the firmware! the ps3 was a forced update and now wont play anything except originals! thanks for the reply
Note, though, that this doesn't have DNLA support like its predecessor the BDP-S370. For that you'd need the S480 or above, I believe.

I had this problem with my PS3, my new LG TV with USB ports plays them fine via a USB stick though ;-)
That's quite a big negative then
Yes it does - the S370 its predecessor only plays FAT formatted USB drives, the S380 plays files on NTFS or FAT formatted drives.
does anyone know if these have cinavia protection that rendered my ps3 useless?

Doesn't play DivX but does play XVid (licensing issue)
No Support for DNLA
Also BBC iPlayer, Love Film etc
Good Blu disc player for the money! have some heat for this price - good find (may get a second ;-))
See the manual here http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4261092111.pdf
Plays NTFS on mine.... No Problems at all
No
Yes. Do a 'google'
You'll need an 'All 4 One' remote and it's for DVD only as you suggest.
