I also received two copies of Batman Begins and Casino Royal - delivered on the same day, whoops.

Worth noting the player has a recessed USB port which means you need to buy one of the tiny sony usb microvault type sticks for it to fit, or use a usb extension cable to hang it out the back. Even my nice Sandisk key was too chunky to fit.

Anyway, add the usb storage, connect it to your network and it will self update to Profile 2.0.

I think there is a new Firmware out too, 015, how do you know if it has updated to profile 2.0?

Agree...

Profile 2.0
Can be made multi region for SD DVD
If you have a spare £180 you can get it made Region A and Region B for Blu Ray

Great piece of kit.

Don't forget to upgrade the firmware if you get one (Via internet or download to CD)

All sony bdp s350 come with profile 1.1 installed as standard so if you want profile 2.0 just go to sony's website & download the firmware update & install as the sony guide states.

It's well seeing that Sony's price increases are beginning to kick in http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/3496632/Sony-to-raise-prices-by-up-to-a-third-to-offset-tumbling-value-of-the-pound.html as this player could have been had for as little as £129 a couple of months ago.....

Cheapest price around at the moment though. H&R added

I have one of these myself and the PQ is excellent. Made MR for DVD too with the One 4 All remote hack.

BTW haven't read right through the thread, but saw mention of the two free BRs from Sony - I think this offer may have since expired.

EDIT

Yep, was right :-( http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/332601/sony-bdps350-blu-ray-player-164-05-/showpost.php?p=4281116&postcount=12

I used the contact form on the sony site, keep complaining and you'll get them eventually.

Or you can call them on 08705 111 999, spoke to a very helpful girl about the missing blu rays.

My local blockbuster (Farnborough) were selling these for £149 plus 6 free blu-ray films. The staff told me it was a discontinued line, so selling off stock. I have a feeling it has since gone down further in price (£99 ?) - I'll check later and report back.

£99 would be daylight robbery. If that turns out to be true i'll be supremely jealous as I haven't a cat in hell's chance of getting to a branch.

Thanks guys, Ive sent e-mail to sony and have just come off the phone to them, they said that they have run out of the 2 free discs but are waiting stock and I should have them within 2 weeks as they have put a chase on them ???
Thanks for the advice : )
#38
i telephoned farnborough and this item is 199.99 :( - they were doing the movie deal but now expired
#39
ive now tried 3 local stores too who say it is a centralised computer so all prices are same throughout the country, the 6 dvd movie deal last week was 199.99 which has now expired, the stand alone dvd player is back to normal price of 199.99
#40
comet will beat dixons price of 164.95 though by 10% so takes this under 149.00 :)
