i am trying to decide between this offer and the offer from HMV for a unknown blue ray for £49.99 (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/575568/limit-blu-ray-player-multiregion-49?t=575568). any idea and comparision?
what is the spec of this? does it have usb connection? of course the quality of picture in sony should be much better.

My mate bought the HMV one & is really pleased with it.

Crikey these just keep getting lower and lower.
Maybe clearing out stockpiles in anticipation of the next generation Blu-ray players - ie with support for the new 3D specification ?

Meanwhile don't forget Nectar eStores as a bit of an extra £back for Amazon.

Rock2007 please go to the link to help you decide which one is best?? once you see this it's a done deal, considering how many blu-ray players are on the market for £300 and less.....
hope this helps you decide????

thanks. i found following items to compare:
HMV player
* can easily become multi-region player
* plays .MKV (Matroska) and DivX
* supports FAT32 usb memories

Sony player
Smooth operator thanks in part to Xross Media Bar; solid spec; silky smooth motion and bold colours with DVD and Blu-ray; fast, exciting sound

anything i am missing?

by the way, i have added heat to this offer as the price is vey good for a sony player.

I bought one and I'm taking it back tomorrow, it makes a really weird humming sound while the disc is running. I've heard other users have had the same problem.

Play have it for the same price I think so with Quidco their's is slightly better deal, although this is a great price. Am really tempted to get one but am holding out a bit longer to see if they come down any more
#11
I went for the £99 M&S option where you supposedly get the 3 free blu ray dvds, i collect next Saturday in-store from Carlisle!

+ i got 5% Quidco with M&S which has tracked at £4.95

Same with me – the noise was so high pitched I can't live with it.

I got the Sony BDPS360 Blu Ray player with the 3 blu ray DVDs for £86.99 then sold the DVDs for £30.00 so in the end I only paid £56.99 for mine.
#14
When does the chat start re does this include the 3 "free" dvds?
#16
has anybody noticed that this sony's drive makes a bit of noise whilst loading discs and when changing between chapters, no other noise otherwise, is this normal? best i can describe the noise is like a muffled "clunk"??????

hmv one
pros - lots of features, multiregion, a little cheaper
cons - terrible build quality, looks ugly, setup problems, no support, warranty-hmm good luck, lots of teething problems, lack of info about product, think its only dolby/dts 5.1 too, noisy

sony
pro - good manufacturer support, warranty, quality components, easy to do firmware upgrades , dependable quality (my 350 has had NO problems in the past year)
cons - not multiregion, though large no of disks are region free (whether they will play is another matter tho!)

depends what your requirements are..seems both are good deals for different sets of people
I wanted something reliable and that would be supported beyond leaving the shop, i have no need for multiregion or alot of the features that the limit has,i also trusted sony as a brand rather than limit (who are they?) which seems to be a here today gone tomorrow rebrand and i wanted something that looked pretty decent and matched my other av stuff....i chose the sony

Got the blockbuster deal just before christmas and really pleased with it. Also brings DVDs up really well too.

That must have been a market place seller.

Mine arrived, although I paid £94, but that's the Amazon fluctuations for you!
I think I'm going to need some sort of "wi-fi to ethernet network bridge" - although I managed to apply an update with a LONG bit of network cable, but this isn't a viable long-term thing!
Do many disks use this BD live thing? I've not got any blu-ray disks yet, but I'm wondering if the £35 (unless someone knows of cheaper!) for one of these is worth it?

The other thing I was thinking was using my laptop, and aged EEEPC running Ubuntu linux.
It'd be easy for me in Windows, but Linux is a whole other level!

just about to buy, then saw that it is now 94.99 again :(

just purchased one from M&S for £99.99 with 2 year guarantee (in-store collection). If you want it delivered to your door step, then you pay an extra £3.95 A bit more expensive but you get an extra 12 month guarantee and can return to any M&S store.

I cant see that that has the three blu-rays with it though? Am i correct in thinking its 3 year warranty then if its delivered, and just 2 if collected from store?
#28
Im going to take a look in my M&S store tomorrow morning and will report back, if i can get the three blu-rays and two year guarantee then awesome deal.
