Thanks for your post and welcome to HUKD Rawtec :)

I've added a price and a retailer name to your title, we always try to include these when posting deals. I've also added an image to your post, for help on how to do this check out the links in my signature. Thanks

Blockbusters told me that the newer BDPS360 model is coming in on the 23rd November and will be bundled with 4 Blurays, Night at the Museum 2, Term. Salvation, Slumdog millionaire and one other I cant remember. Priced at £149.99, I may wait for this one to be honest.

Pixmania seemed to have come along way in the last few years, but I'd still rather have the security of a well known retailer.

Thanks Rawtec for posting this deal.
I bought one last week at £149 and phoned Amazon and asked them to refund the difference and they honoured it.

Down to personal experience I suppose. I had no problem when ordering a washing machine from them, great price, smooth delivery process.

Yeah Pixmania are good when it's smooth, but I've placed 5 orders with them; 3 were fine, 2 were an absolute nightmare as Pixmania's customer service is beyond useless and they're not based in the UK (so returns aren't made easy). I've ordered loads from amazon over the years; 95% great and the 5% that I did have a problem with were sorted out very quickly and professionally

Exactly! :x Worst ever in my experience........

I ordered a blower over the weekend and thought I would check process of the order last night,

Nothing was showing! So I emailed them.

They responded this morning just that the order was CANCELLED but that my card wouldn't be charged!

NO explanation given!

NO previous advice whatsoever ! .....I had to 'find out' for myself :x :x :x

Not anymore, they stopped doing that quite a while ago i think.

No, the price promise was dropped a while ago for stocked items.

Only pre-orders [for the likes of DVDs] are now covered - it will always say so in the description if an item is covered or not.

EDIT

Oops! beaten to it :-D

Does anyone know if this model; can be made multiregion for DVD like the previous 350?

Thanks :)

Panasonic have a 'claim 7 blurays' offer at the moment http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/Blu-ray+Recorders+6+Players/Overview/Blu-ray+Offer+-+7+Gift+copy+Blu-ray+MOVIES/2950540/index.html but then thier players are a lot dearer than this [though given the choice if the price was the same, I'd choose the Panny all day long]

I know that Blockbusters [Xtravision over here in NI http://www.xtravision.co.uk/ ] usually do a Christmas offer - they had one last year for the 350 plus some blurays, but hadn't heard of one this year ... so far.

EDIT

This was last year's offer http://www.avforums.com/forums/8081583-post1.html

Only certain websites though http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/editorial/dixonspricematch?int=dealofday-weekend-deals , and Pixmania isn't one of them....

OK, I'm not doubting this is a great BD player but what are the benefits of this over PS3? I know the games machine is more expensive but it (obviously!) does so much more. Is it really worth getting a dedicated BD player instead of a PS3?

I'd always thought that when I took the plunge into the BD market it would be via the PS3 route - unless you guys persuade me otherwise.

This is the new BDPS360! Though I agree the 4 Blu-ray disc bundle is worth the extra £15 if the deal does appear.

Surely the main factor is now price, especially for people who are not gamers. The PS3 Slim (120gb) is £244.69 whereas the PS3 Fat (80gb) is £229.69 (prices from Amazon.co.uk).

While there's no doubt that the PS3 offers extras, I sold my old PS3 and purchased this due to the fan noise which disrupted my DVD viewing experience! (I know that this isn't an issue with some PS3's, just pot luck).

Plus other factors like the PS3 consuming lots more power if all you're doing is playing BR. However if you want to stream video from the PC etc the PS3 is a better option tho still not as good as a dedicated streamer.

also not possible to use universal IR remote with PS3 which put me off - got Harmony and don't want to use more than one remote
