I have to agree and they usually won't reserve anything if they do have it in stock. This is a current product though and not one of their outgoing "specials" so there is some hope.

Best advice is to phone first and make sure they have a few in store before you make a trip. They might be able to tell you when they're due more stock, too, so you can be first in line...

Can't agree with that, any time i have called them they have been only to happy to rserve items for me or get stock tranferred from another store.

To get this price you need to trade in an old vhs or dvd player.

"Price includes £30 trade in allowance for your old DVD/VHS"

Oh, not exactly prominent there half way down their page!

Didn't see that at all. Better add it to the deal title...

This is probably the best offer in recent times but not necessarily by much. At Amazon it was £138 with Avatar Bluray and HDMI cable- so no need to trade in equipment. My old VCR is worth £5-10, Avatar £15 and the HDMI £5. Overall very similar in value.

Personally I think it's nice of them to offer a free VCR disposal service!

I also not sure it would need to be a working model as I doubt they'd have time to test every one...

Yeah, and in the past when I bought a DVD recorder from them, they offered a great price, but when I went to buy it all they had were ones that had been modded to play 'Multi Region' - at a £20 premium! (They had a couple of non 'Multi Region' models in some shop or other, but couldn't order one in for me, so they could advertise the lower price). Still their 5Yr warranty is a good deal though.

If you want rid of your vcr, already have a hdmi cable or don't want avatar then Richer Sounds is definitely the better deal.

Mind you I found myself wanting the amazon deal for exactly the opposite reasons. VCR Nostalgia.

You don't have to have Avatar on the Amazon deal. You can select from a few hundred choices. I went for series 1 & 2 of The Tudors because it would have been more expensive (over £20) ;-) HDMI cable does the job well and for £134.50 with free delivery I'm a happy bunny without having to get to the shops!

My local only had the multiregion.

They did not make this clear until I had filled in most of the trade in form etc.

However, I have just got it up and running and I am well chuffed with the iplayer HD facility and the lovefilm trailers in HD.
