Is'nt there a 4Gb file size limit on the USB port? Might make watching 1080p rips tricky!
#7
I can see the cable but not the £5 off a blu-ray title.

It gets taken off at the final checkout.

Got my player from Amazon on Monday, oh so typical.
NEWay, yes it does play mkv files straight off USB, no need to convert them to AVCHD format.

nice!

any idea how long it takes to work after turning on?

My Sony BDP300 takes 80 to 90 seconds from switch on to being able to do anything with it!

yes, the drive needs to be formatted as FAT32, ntfs formatted drives won't work. 4GB filesize is the limit for FAT32.
#12
Is it amazon, or another company that refunds you if they drop the price within 30 days?
#13
Amazon used to do that but stopped a year or so ago.

Same as the PS3 mate, same company, they know what you are doing :whistling: with the MKV/M2TS files and they will not put a codec on to allow you to stream or play, 8gb 1080p files that have high bit rates.

But ..... The LG does.. :whistling:

Or WD Live or sumvision will allow MKV
suspended#16
yep, they don't want you playing 4.4gb .mkv files which is why sony don't allow NTFS, the license is just a few pence i believe.
#17
Brilliant, held back on plays deal.... this ones got one ordered. thanks

I haven't got a stopwatch handy but I know it's as fast if not faster than my Fat PS3 but without the noise of the PS3. :)

You can play high bitrate 1080p files on the S370 that have been authored in AVCHD format and put on either a BD-R or BD-RE disc, providing of course that you have access to a Blu-ray Burner that is. :)

Small enough AVCHD stuff plays from DVD-Rs OK too. Did a wedding video of 2 hours on Sony Vegas rendered at 4Mbps and looks great!
