RICHER SOUNDS DEAL OF THE DAY.....from 7pm tonight until 7pm tomrorow 25th

With the Sony BDPS370, budget Blu-ray has never been better!

In terms of design, features and functionality, Sony have made some great improvements to their latest budget Blu-ray masterpiece. New to the BDPS370 is the option of connecting to the Internet wirelessly or via the traditional Ethernet cable. Simply add a wireless dongle and your BDPS370 can integrate with your home network and "talk" to other components in the DNLA enabled loop. In conjunction with this there's full access to the BBC iPlayer and BRAVIA Internet Video for access to online video content such as YouTube. In short, there's much more you can do with a budget Blu-ray player than just playing Blu-rays and DVDs these days!

Got an iPhone or iPod Touch? Then you can take control of the BDPS370 with a special App and wireless dongle. Use the touch screen to view disc information or find YouTube video. Find out more about your Blu-ray discs by searching the Entertainment Database Browser using Gracenote technology.

For all the improvements in functionality, don't forget that the BDP-S370 is Blu-ray player - and a great one at that! Playback quality of all formats is every bit as good as you'd expect from a Sony with Sony's Precision Drive technology lending a hand to correct scratched or warped discs. As ever, the full 1080p output and HDMI interface give stunning levels of clarity and digital HD surround sound for an unparalleled cinema experience.

Thanks to Sony's Xross Media Bar, using the BDP-S370 is easy. With a boot up time of just 3 seconds and a 2 seconds tray eject, it's also quicker than ever loading up a film. BRAVIA Sync means that if you already have a Sony TV you can link to that for remote control integration.

Sony 3-Series Blu-ray players have also been front runners in the budget market, now with the BDPS370 they've set the bar higher still. Impressive stuff!

A really good price and I have owned one of these since January this year. I would have no hesitation recommending it to any potential buyer.

I have a ps3 and dont need any of the wireless capabilities. Just comparing the quality of bluray playback is there any need to get another bluray player or does the ps3 produce good quality? At the time of purchase i know the ps3 was said to be a good bluray player, just wondering if things have moved on now

I got one of these from pcworld on price match with the surround sound speakers, I also brought the wireless dongle to use wifi which is useless compared to my ps3.

Watching a program on iplayer is almost impossible to do in one hit.

If you have a ps3 stick with it, Sony have rolled out a couple of updates for the BDPS370 since I have owned it though.

I would not buy a bluray if i use a PS3 in the room myself. My son has a PS3 and uses it for blurays all the time and his happy with it. Also the PS3 is wireless and if you were to have a lovefilm subscription like we do you can watch thousands of moves directly to your ps3......

Will deffo need to ring stores, not just to check they still have stock but because the website clearly states items could be ex display or ex repair

Great player.
You can use Ethernet if you Router is within cable reach, I do, so no need to pay for the dongle to use iPlayer etc. Also the iPlayer app on the S370 is superior to the one offered on the PS3 and Sony Bravia TVs, I always use the S370 instead.

I was trying to get one of these last weekend. Staff at Sheffield branch said they wouldn't be getting any more in stock as it would be replaced by 380 soon. Always call before making a wasted trip.

And yet, they state online that they have 5 in stock, as usual Richer Sounds online stock levels are not true to form.

Mine looks fine with the rest of my AV Equipment in a cabinet, as it is currently my primary source for Blu Ray I want it hooked up to my Receiver for surround sound, same with games too.

I have this already but just informed the g/f as she's in the market for same player and in Glasgow tomorrow. Cheers.

or use homeplug av200 like netgear's powerline av200 plugs (XAV101), miles better than wireless n (i get between 130-195mpbs - not a hope of getting that on wireless n)

380 is out already - cheapest ive seen it is £120....but seems theyve stripped out some of the functionality of the 370 so its worse.....doh! eg no DNLA support, no optical out

I've used the iPlayer through ethernet on this and it works great, even in HD, I only have an approx 4mb line too. Picture quality is great. Bluray and upscaled DVDs also look brilliant. The player itself also looks really nice in my living room.
#25
Oh right Royal so you know do you ? So I'm a chav as well because I own 3 Samsung lcd tvs as well that get TOP reviews and ratings.? You sound like a bit of a know it all pillock anyhow so I'll give your opinion a swerve and bet my bluray and lcds against your sweeping assessment all day.
People like you make me laugh...

You talk utter rubbish there, I had a Denon SACD/DVD-A Player and it was absolute cack compared to the "Chav" Samsung replacement I had afterwards. Admittedly I was eventually disappointed that the Samsung broke, to be replaced by a Pioneer DV-610 which touch wood still spins all my SACDs just fine.

Not only was the sound quality inferior on the Denon than either of these players, it had a very poor buffer meaning that DVD-9 disks would pause slightly on a noticeable layer change.

Whilst Denon do produce some good stuff do not get all high and mighty thinking they are anything more than low to mid end AV Equipment.

I have a BDP-S350 and a PS3. I refused to buy a PS3 at the time because there were no games I wanted, it was big, ugly and noisy (this was before the slim) and more expensive than a dedicated player. It also wouldn't work with my prized Harmony One remote!

Now I also have a slim PS3 and they live in harmony on my AV rack. It's worth keeping the BR player for me just because it works with the Harmony One and I don't need to keep taking games out every time I want to watch a movie! The PS3 also didn't bitstream audio to my AV amp (not sure if this is still the case) and I think of your TV is big enough, your sound system good enough and you really notice these kind of things you will prefer the picture and sound of the dedicated player to the PS3.

I'm tempted to replace my S350 with this one at this price, in the sole hope it loads a lot discs faster!

konimitsu - you asked about Lovefilm. It's good - not every film you might want to watch is on there, but if you're wanting to watch a film, and are prepared to give older or lesser known films a try, its good value! And we were impressed how well it works as we're in the sticks, but it streams perfectly. As does iplayer, even in HD.

Thanks we had lovefilm a while but not used the online service, just got a uear subscription with Toshiba and my son has used it with his PS3 and I aim to use it via the bluray. Yes I understand the latest releases are not on there but just liek this evening there is NOTHING for me to watch on tv so wiht 5000+ movies online must be something. Good to know it streams well, thank you.
