Is this the briefest post ever? oO

Told me all I needed to know!

How many times have we seen this Blu Ray player for £99.99 at Play, Amazon and RS in the last 6 months? It's a HUKD regular.

My first post was brief so that I could post it asap and fill in the details once it's been posted. I've read many posts where one member says to another 'you beat me to it by 1 minute' etc., so my strategy is get it up, get it in and then fill the blank spaces.
#5
Is there some sort of link to the boxing day sale list?
#6
Heat added for the price.
#7
I only know about this deal as I subscribe to Richer Sounds' VIP e-letter
#8
Great, turning up Boxing Day morning at 7.00am with a heavy hangover and the rest of the population waiting....
#9
I'm definitely going to see if I can pick one of these up on Boxing Day. Been waiting for it to come down in price; I'll be able to watch iPlayer HD for the first time!
#10
I predict this will go above 1000 degrees!
Hot!

oO Quite good, but I think I found the hottest 'accidental' sexual reference of the year comment here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/loft-insulation-big-roll-which-you-/830256/#post10143892:D

Agreed X)

Oh BTW, I added heat as this a good deal. Just hope I can get one.
#14
Very very good unit, at a cracking price, HOT !
#15
I wonder how many customers will actually get the unit at this price? I doubt it will be 500. Possibly one or two per store, maybe?

Typical Richer Sounds bait and switch.

Heat added

52 stores, average of 9.61 units per store but maybe some stores will be allocated more than others.
#17
The total first 500 makes it look like bait from Richer..

To save £20, you should be waiting in freezing cold from very early morning...Is it worth getting flu or cough for £20? In my view it is not...

I saw it in the VIP news letter and thought WOW, but and after reading the restriction of 500 i gave up.

But still a very good deal for anyone who gets lucky...
#18
I'd sooner pay £99 and have it delivered by Amazon this weather..brrrr.
#19
This is a hot deal.
However, I have never got close to getting anything from richer when it is a good deal, such as this. Always seem sold out. I bet they haven't got 500 in stock. And how does a branch know when 500 have been sold around the country? Do they each have an allocation and if so how many each store?
Secondly, I was happy to pay the extra £20 to not have to queue like some sad muppet at a ridiculous hour.
I could earn the player by going to work instead of queuing for the same time..
#20
Nice one
#21
They never have any stock..do they?
#22
I queued outside Richer Sounds last Boxing Day only to find that both sale items I wanted were out of stock.......not really worth wasting your time and effort unless you are at the front of the queue and at least have a chance of bagging the deal.
#23
Good price, but the restricted number (and effort required) means it isn't my idea of a good deal...
Perhaps they'll have fiery hoops at the doorway for you to jump through as well? ;)
#24
I arrived 30 mins after opening last year, queued for 30 mins and got a 360 for £80.

Nice strategy, hope it works for you ;-)

Richer Sounds are a good outfit - largely. I have to say though, that it can be a pain in the a**e trying to get a store holding the stock you need.
#27
I have lost a lot of faith in RS years ago you do a deal or get a better model for the same money if they had no stock. Now they are just out for what they can get.
Went in a few months ago to buy Panasonic TV for a friend at £850 and they offered me nothing ended up in Comet (who were only to eager) to beat them. Always limited stock for stuff I want.

You must be very keen to do that! Last year I got a BDP-360 (they had loads for sale) in the Boxing Day sale......when they only opened at 10am!!!!!!!!

Sony BDPS370 only £79.99 @ Richer Sounds on Boxing Day! is all you need to know anyway..so no issues from me. Got one of these and is a great piece of kit.
#30
Went into stoke richer sounds and picked up a denon 2310 amp for £500 and tried getting them to match amazon on the Sony player, difference of £25 I think, they wouldn't budge even tho I'd just coughed up 500 quid on an amp, would of thought they would of tried a little harder to please customer, may aswell just shop at dixons if they ain't gonna haggle and deal.

Went Costco next day and picked one up for £83 saving bout £40 on rs price so turned out ok in end. Great player by the way.
#31
Been stung twice by "amazing" RS offers that amazingly dissapeared during my 50 mile round trip to their store. If you live near and can get to a store, good luck but I'll stick to online / bigger retailers.
#32
I got the Sony Blu Ray player that was on offer for £79.99 last year.

Got in the Queue about 10am was probably about 50th in line and it moved pretty quick and the staff just went down the line and advised people about what they were after in order to make everyone quicker through the tills.
#33
Great price if you manage to get one. Heat added.

Just phoned Cambridge. They have 20.

I can't be arsed to queue up in the cold though to save £20. It will probably down to this price in a month or so anyway...

I too dont think you can trust Richer Sounds after a few misses.
They have moved a little towards to the hard side nowadays.
I recommended Richer to a friend and took him to purchase Denon M38DAB and a pair of Mordaunt Short Alumni 2 speakers. Even after long talk they did not even give a penny off from the listed price. I even told then that i have been a customer with them for years and always get my TV, Receivers and speakers from them.. Even asked them to check the system against my address which will show that i have purchased more than £3000 worth of AV stuff..

All they offered was "Get the speaker wires and connectors , we shall look at what we can do for you". Everyone knows that prices of accessories at Richer is not the best.. so i politely declined.

After purchasing the stuff and on the way home my friend said "I could have got it for the same price elsewhere???"...
That is how Richer has turned out nowadays..Dont know why??

From now on i am not taking anyone over there or referring anyone to them..

Unfortunately Richer Sounds aren't the store they use to be. In the old days if you made the effort to go to the store and the item you wanted was not stock they would sale you a similar or better spec one for the same price. I recently went to the store in Bristol (where there is no where to park) to get a plasma tv but they didn't have the one I wanted in stock so they tried selling me a much dearer one. I left and went to John Lewis (parked outside in the free car park) and found the tv I wanted for the same price but with a free 5 year warranty.
It wont be long before these are available everywhere at £99 so I'll wait until they drop and probably get one at John Lewis as they include a free 2 year warranty.

You can't get Flu by standing in the cold. Flu is a bug which needs to be passed on. ;)

Have to agree with the majority on here. I am also disillusioned with Richer Sounds, went in the other day to buy an expensive subwoofer and some speaker stands, and they would not budge on a discount, not even an offer for a cable for the sub. Needless to say I did not purchase the items, and will look elsewhere.
Hot deal this though if you are lucky to get one.
