The Sony BDP-S570 is a 3D ready Blu-Ray and DVD player which also supports CD, JPEG, MP3 and the DivX-HD and AVC-HD high definition video formats. With a sleek design, fast operation, wireless connection and fantastic picture quality, the BDPS570 is a great value Blu-ray player.

The BDP-S570 can deliver high definition 1080p video from Blu-ray discs, and upscale DVDs, creating an incredibly stable image on your HD ready flatscreen. The player also supports video at 24 frames per second for a more film-like experience. It's 3D ready, bringing an extra dimension to your 3D capable flatscreen.

The Sony BDP-S570 also boasts high definition audio playback with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD and 5.1 and 7.1 channel output of the highest quality soundtracks via its HDMI output, delivering the best movie sound to your sound-system. If your amplifier can't process HDMI audio the BDPS570 is equipped with coaxial and optical digital outputs.

Connect the BDPS570 to your home network, wirelessly or through its ethernet connection, and you can download BD-Live content such as games, deleted scenes or trailers for compatible discs. With internet access you can also watch streaming video- such as iPlayer and Channel 5 television on demand, YouTube or movies- through Sony's Bravia internet video service. All of this is easy to control, using Sony's intuitive XrossMediaBar graphic menu screens or the touch screen of your iPhone.

I've had this for a few months. I use it pretty much every day and so far have had no high-pitched whine as some people have complained of. If anyone has that problem it's probably just a faulty machine and they should get it replaced. I personally think it's a great player, the built in wi-fi is a bonus and the upscaling of dvds is very impressive, so much better than my previous upscaling dvd player.

i too have had one of these since January, i use it everyday, no whine on mine, i love it. I mainly watch bbc iplayer on it, no lag at all, and i love wirelessly listening to my music from my laptop, and also stream films from my laptop wirelessly to the tv, fantastic bit of kit, thinking of getting another for the front room as this one resides in my bedroom X)

This is the best price I've seen this player plus free delivery is a bonus. Just a shame my local store does't have any in stock to collect. I was going to get it from Richer Sounds but there price has gone up and is now £20 more expensive. Will consider this company instead. Anyone had any dealings with them?

Has wifi, totally a winner in that respect... but I would wait for S580 to come out, this will drop in price when that comes out... I don't really see too many benefit in S580.. it has a web browser, but its likely to be mediocre anyway...
