This one is 100W, mine is 1000W.
A real av reciever will never have a dvd or blu ray built into it.
I'll eventually be upgrading to a decent denon or onkyo system with new speakers.
It's a typo on the Dixons website, this one is 1000W:

I would say go for the Sony.
That Panasonic only has an Optical input, so has VERY limited connections if you want to connect other equipment to it (eg Sky, PS3, Xbox etc). Also, Panasonic All-in-ones tend NOT to support DTS via the Optical input.
This Sony has 2 HDMI inputs & an Optical input. If you have other equipment you want to connect up for 5.1 (now or in the future) then the Sony is much more future proof. It's pretty decent connectivity for an All-in-one.

Cheers. Had a feeling that the Sony was a much better buy.
The speakers have a Sony special plug on them instead of just the two bare speaker wires. I would guess that you could just cut the wires and join them to your under the carpet wires.
I paid £180 for this late last year from RS. It's a superb "home fracking kit". It works particularly well with Sony TVs (40ex503) because the TV remote operates it's features. It's got a decent internet set of features - but I don't use them on the blu ray because they're very similar to my TV.
It does make you want to live in a detached house though - just in case the neighbours buy one!
