Sony BDV-L600 2.1 3D blu ray home cinema with wireless speakers. £199.95 @ Amazon - Richer Sounds.
From Richer Sounds Amazon store. It is OOS on Richer Sounds own website.
Seems a very good price for this nice 3d Blu Ray 2.1 home cinema solution, especially with wireless speakers. No one else is selling this for anything close. You should also be able to claim a free Harry Potter Blu Ray. I've ordered one.
ETA: It is a Smart Blu ray player, so you can get iPlayer, Youtube, Love Film etc - it's not internet wireless, but wireless ready, so you would have to buy the Sony dongle or use an ethernet cable or power over ethernet devices.
It comes with an iPod dock.
I had a demo of this in Selfridges the other week and it sounds great. They were selling it for £299.
Bear in mind that to wall mount the unit you need an additional bracket, wsl-100, which no one can seem to find for sale online.
EDIT - Wall bracket from here: http://www.4sony.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=2918230&query=bdv%20600 Just over £40 delivered - bit pricey, but can't find anywhere else.
I read somewhere you may need a HDMI 1.4 cable for it to work correctly with your TV, but these can be bought for a couple of quid from Amazon.
ETA: I used a cheap £1 cable from Poundland and it's working fine! A thread I read suggested any issues may be down to faulty HDMI cables.

Jump to unread Post a CommentI agree daft design, but I think it's aimed at folk who hang their TVs on the wall. I could be wrong though.
I think you are right. But it also shows what contempt Sony have for consumers and lack of foresight IMO. No wonder they are jumping into bed with Panasonic for future developments.
From what I have read their Smart TVs require a @£70 dongle that isn't up to much to work wirelessly.
But £40 for a wall mount that has to support probably under less than 2 KG is just obscene. Bought a Tilt wall mount off Ebay the other week that supports 99% of TVs from 30 - 60" for £9.99 delivered. Bizarrely has now increased to £17.99 in the last week.
Can also get a tilt and swivel mount for £20 off them - gone up £2 but then they did say that £17.99 was a limited offer.
I don't get why all the speakers aren't wireless. If they were this would have been scorching and OOS.
You can pick up the dongle for about £45 but I didn't bother, just used homeplugs, much faster and a doddle to setup.
still £199 on Richer Sounds but for store pickup only.
i got one reserved to pick up tomorrow.

I got the previous version, BDVEF200, for £120 from Amazon market place and it's perfectly fine for what I wanted. The internet services work well although and the sub-woofer is good although the satellite speakers are a bit weak.
I used a cheap £1 HDMI cable I got from Poundland to connect them together - not sure if it is HDMI 1.4, but it works fine.
The sub, speakers and main unit are pretty large, but seem well made.
One think that is bothering me is where to put the iPod dock if I buy the wall mounting bracket? The dock needs to sit on something - maybe I will just get/make a shallow shelf under the TV.
For £200 it's a bargain.
