Works on pretty much anything, inc DVDs, BluRay, all the menu items etc, the same way as the PS3 controller. Only things i've found it won't do are in-game stuff, and the VidZone app

There are conflicting reports that its either a hardware feature of the Slim, or it will be available with the 3.0 firmware which will be released on 1st Sept. My guess is that it will be included with the 3.0 firmware for the older models.

UPDATE: Several people on the PS forums are saying that its part of the 1.3a spec for HDMI, so it won't be available at all on the fatty one.

I've got one of these and it annoys the hell outta me! Its so easy to accidentally turn the ps3 on and there is no off button. I've worked out if i hold down the PS button for a few seconds then press enter a couple times it goes through the right menu options to turn it off but still a pain!

Apart from that it does what it says on the tin and as a previous poster mentioned, you can indeed hit the pause button when you are in another room and it will work, whether its the kitchen or crapper!

Does it power down the PS3? as I have a cheap remote that came as part of the package when I bought my PS3, and it can't turn off the PS3, meaning I still have to use the controller anyway. heat added.

You can turn the console off by holding down the PS button on the remote and selecting turn off just like you do with a normal six-axis controller. There's just no one touch off button.

EDIT:
One more thing. I think you can use this with vidzone but you have to re-assign the remote to controller 1.

just wondering, could this be adapted for use with a pc media software like mediaportal, or the windows media center software?
