If this was a one off in a remote tesco store then it would bE hitting Galactic figures but it isn't lol....

Also the fact it is showing in just 7 stores and you have to be a trader / member to go to Makro restricts the majority of people from even contemplating getting this deal it is hardly going to get very hot IMHO.

Good find op have some heat
#9
Good deal for those that live near one of the stocked stores. I have this player and never had a problem with it. Heat added
#10
I have this player too and it's fantastic. Voted hot from me OP.

Poor argument about Makro, my nearest Costco is a 2 hour drive away and you pay for membership unlike Makro which is free
1 Like #12
Would have snapped one of these up if they had stock in the Birmingham store, but to be honest even when the 40th Birthday Sale started last weekend there were no bargains to be found...Makro prices in general these days are a joke, only good for getting bog roll and washing detergent, very few electrical deals of worth, and when they do crop up very limited stock as obviously clearance.

But most of us not allowed to go to Makro, I am not a trader so I cannot become a member. I am not a member at costco either by the way even though I have one local.

It has got some heat considering what it is what is available and restrictions on buying it. Looks like I was wrong again with me remote tesco comment.....if it is cheap it does not matter whether you can get them or not people will vote for it...

@koniimutsu

Does it really matter if a deal has restrictions on buying or not, or if it has low numbers or not?

If this deal was not posted at all, then HUKD members would not have even been aware. If this had not gained heat then I would have been unaware and as a Makro card holder and having a Makro store close to hand (2 miles) could have taken up this offer, if only my local one had the stock (which it doesn't).

This does not in my opinion make it a none deal, it is the heads up and the price regardless that is important, regardless of whether you can personally benefit from it or not.

As I said earlier very few electrical deals of worth come along in Makro, and when they do crop up very limited stock as obviously clearance, but I added heat because some HUKD member could benefit at one of the other towns/cities.

Cicobuff you are of course correct....I have agree with you. If some benefit from it then that is all that matters really....just finding a little frustration from other deals and things here that suck....but in the spirit of the community a good deal that someone gets benefit from is just that a good deal.

I am having my male monthly crisis I think, maybe all this time off work!!!!!!!

Makro is a wholesaler, isn't it. Whilst this is a deal site, it is a site aimed at the end consumer, not resellers.
Personally, I don't think Makro deals should be on here.

Well, clearly some members here are Makro Cardholders, and have benefited from *some* deals been listed here.

Personally don't think it harms anyone, if you are not a Makro cardholder, don't bother entering the threads, same as other deals, if you find a particular instore only deal is not a store you have in your area of the country, does it matter if the deal is posted or not to you...someone somewhere is going to benefit...a deal is a deal.

To me it is the community spirit of this site that is the most important, I have benefited from other posted deals, and glad others have from ones I in turn have posted.

As I said, as I live close to a Makro and a cardholder, if this was in stock I could have benefited, but ho-hum it wasn't, but I add heat so that others get the heads up on it, because someone somewhere else in the country who is registered on here and is close to a Makro that has them in stock can benefit...and good luck to them I say...community spirit and helping one another on here is what counts to me.

Whilst Makro is a wholesale place, I doubt there would be many businesses that buy their white goods or electrical stock from Makro, I know I wouldn't judging their usual prices! (You would make very little profit even disgarding the VAT) There are a lot of "end consumers" rather than resellers that have Makro cards and buy the one off items.

I rarely buy from Makro, the odd deal crops up, but by the time you add on VAT (as an end consumer) into the price, you find a lot of things cheaper in your local supermarket, including electricals.

This sounds like you are quoting a trade price, if this is what traders pay. Scan.co.uk have a Blu Ray player for under £50 and you don't need to be trade hence there must be cheaper places for reselleres to purchase these.!.?.
#20
I might add out of the 3 films listed I would only purchase Slumdog, maybe, if it was less than £5. No vote from me.

Hmmm who says I voted cold???

You asked why it was cold and I answered why I thought it was not so hot with a legitimate and arguable answer...

Thanks for the insults but I know how the site works, thank you very much. Why are you so bothered by this post anyway? Is it your alias or something?

Don't ask questions if you do not want a fair answer to the question.

I have a Makro card. Got it through my work (which is healthcare - not retail).

I dont see why Makro shouldnt be allowed on HUKD as there will be an awful lot of people in the same position as myself - its not just shopkeepers and resellers who can use Makro.

ANYONE who works for a "business" (private or public) could get a card if they wanted, it would take just a wee bit of effort, plenty of advice on the web about how you do this.

I benefited from one of these current deals - as did another member of HUKD who I met up with (for the first time) at Makro yesterday so he could get access by using my card.

We are both end consumers, both members of HUKD community and are both very happy this deal was posted.

If it hadnt been posted neither of us would have known about the deal, he wouldnt have asked if I could help out (communicating through HUKD), and neither of us would have got a Billy bargain.

Surely thats what this site is about?

This is hardly expired - I bought one at Edinburgh 2 hours ago. Worth noting that you can also get the blu ray player alone for the same price, but this is listed separately under the Makro clearance section.

decent discount - check
value for money - check
heat added - unfortunately someone has decided to expire...
