LOL! I'm gonna leave the rest to someone else to list.:D

But this and the other deal that I posted on the dualshock 3 controller for £28.72 here seems to be particularly good as these hardware don't seem to shift in price much wheras the games eventually come down in price. So couldn't resist posting!

Great price. If you use your PS3 for a lot of media/movies, this is a worthy investment. Far easier to use than the controller, and also means you're not ruining the controller's battery by using it for media-related stuff all the time.

I've ordered and hopefully it will be better than using control via HDMI via my bravia TV which is a bit basic, particularly with disc menus.

I don't think it's that because you need to put the code in for those and the price for this has already been reduced on the website.

Good deal IMO but if you have a slim PS3 and a Sony Bravia, you can watch films using BraviaSync

Was looking at these the other day when the 97p PC World IR remote came on here (which never materialised!!). Thought £15 wasn't too much of an expense, even better now! Cheers OP

Excellent! Ordered! £12.17 with staff discount

Tries to charge me £5 delivery unless I pick up from store.

A good price for this item, but overall the remote is disappointing. The lack of IR means it cannot control your TV so you still need to have another remote to control the volume and change Source etc.

With a little more thought Sony could have made this a really good remote.

This works by bluetooth, so no IR. Makes life so much easier though and feels normal using a remote than using the dualshock controller when watching movies. I don't annoy the other half by pressing the wrong button in the middle of the movie anymore, which is a big plus! Another minor plus point is that you don't have to aim the controller at the PS3 as it's Bluetooth, it works at any angle.

I highly recommend this for DVD/bluray playback as well as PlayTV.

you can also use them with Windows too:

You could say that about any remote for any product though, it's not a fair criticism.

Besides, the last thing it needs is more buttons.

I'd say it is a perfectly fair criticism of it. Considering the typical use is going to be for having your console hooked up to a TV, being able to control your TV with the same remote is very useful.

Since the closest comparably rival is the Xbox 360 media remote control, which does allow you to control both your console and your TV through it, it shows what features the PS3 remote is lacking.

This isn't about PS3 vs 360 fanboy-ism or trying to bash one for the sake of it. I just think that with a little bit more thought by Sony during the design this could have been much more useful. Since Sony already sell TV's, DVD & Bluray players where you can have one remote control them all it seems odd not to have included this with the PS3 remote.

No arguments that having this remote makes it easier to control the PS3 for bluray playback than using a Sixaxis/Dualshock controller.

Fair point, wasn't aware the 360 media remote had such functionality. I imagine then that the reason (additional cost aside) is down to it using Bluetooth rather than conventional IR.
